I would prefer at bed height, so I don't have to deal with lifting a bike or kayak higher than I need to. I'm even looking at some potentials for in-the-bed kayak mounting.

This came up since I have just recently purchased a kayak...I have the fork mounts just mounted to the front cross rail, that's fine. But, need to figure out something for the kayak. It's a 9.5 ft rec so it's easy.
