Finished it up with 4 coats of wbp, looks OK. Lots of runs but I won't show you those, lol. But it's sealed and will work for it's intended purpose. Maybe it'll hit the ground tomorrow.

Each time I have used WBP, it would raise the grain a little. I would sand with 000 steel wool and use a tack cloth in between coats. I have used a sand-n-seal on the wood before then followed up with the WBP. The sand-n-seal did make the wood a little darker but I had less raised grain therefore less sanding. Only the A-holes will point out the runs, so don't worry about it. Good luck and have fun.

If this was a better project like a table top, or a box, or furniture type project I would wipe it down with water before applying any finish to raise the grain, then sand it back with 320. Then it would get sanded with 320 between coats. I have had good results with wbp. This saw table was only sanded to 100 grit before applying the finish. Remember it's kinda rustic looking anyway because it's made from pallet wood. It's going to be functional, done for very low cost, and most importantly I'm having fun making something for my shop and spending time in my shop. But I did also learn some things about spraying wbp, j just need more practice.

This thing is useless even with pics. So it's gotta go.
    20210705_123348.jpg
I put the leveling feet back on and got the table on the ground.
    20210705_124337.jpg
My calculations worked out and I have about 1/8" clearance to work with right at the saw. This gives me room for adjustment. It's a little more on the other end.
    20210705_124352.jpg
This is about where it will go once I attach it to the saw.
    20210705_124513.jpg
Here you can see the puney table it is replacing, lol.
    20210705_131522.jpg
I like to be able to push stock through the saw and not have to catch it as it passes the blade, much safer. It also supports sheets of plywood so you can get an accurate cut and be safer as well.

Then I chose some 5/4" maple pallet boards to use for the shelf.
    20210705_132524.jpg

    20210705_132535.jpg
I cut them all to length a couple inches longer than I need, this will make them easier to run through the jointer to flatten them on 2 side.
    20210705_134430.jpg
The really wide boards will get ripped in half.

I completely understand. I could use more practice with all of my stuff.

Next I gave the top a quick sand just to clean it up a bit with a ros and some 220 grit paper.

    It's laminate time!
    20210705_135351.jpg
My set up to cut the laminate.
    20210705_140919.jpg
I sprayed 2 17oz cans of 3m high strength contact adhesive on. Set some stickers up so I can get the laminate positioned. Once it touches its stuck!
    20210705_144228.jpg
Pulled the center board out and worked from the center out with the J roller.
    20210705_144414.jpg
Then trimmed it off with a laminate trimmer bit.
    20210705_145409.jpg
I broke all the edges with a block of wood and some 220 grit paper. The laminate part is done.

Yes, but that will be the last thing I do before attaching it to the saw. I will also be making the right side table before that, it has to be attached to the rails first, and then the outfeed table. But the next step is getting the shelf done when I get some time.

I had a little time after work today so I jointed 2 edges off the Maple shelf boards, some soft and some hard. It's not much but it's something, lol.
These will be planed to 1" thickness. I already rejected 2 boards because the would not have cleaned up to 1"
    20210706_184644.jpg
Once I get these dimensioned I'll rip the last rough edge off on the Table saw.

Productive day in the shop. Ripped down some Patagonia rosewood and got it in the vacuum chamber for stabilizing. Milled out another set of curly maple handles with matching backspacer. And testing out some different finishes.

Finally got some shop time today to work on the outfeed table.
Ran the boards through the planer and ended up with 1" boards.
    20210711_165022.jpg
Then I ripped the last rough edge off on the Tae saw and the jointed that edge, now the boards are dimensioned and square.
    20210711_171249.jpg
Set up my cheapie craftsman router table.
    20210711_175523.jpg
And then set up a groove bit.
    20210711_175533.jpg
    Then cut the grooves.
    20210711_175550.jpg
Did the same with the tongue bit.
    20210711_184412.jpg
And now I have 1" tongue and groove hardwood boards.
    20210711_184452.jpg
This is what I was shooting for as far as the shelf goes. I did screw up and forgot to leave 2 boards with an edges so I'll have to rip the tongue and groove off the 2 end boards.
    20210711_185748.jpg
Just jointing and planing these boards nearly filled the dust collector drum. I'm glad I put this view window on the drum.

I have to do some trim in my house but that got put on the back burner until the new saw set up is done as far as the tables go. I ripped a bunch of red oak for my bedroom trim and I need to rout some profiles on it before I finish it and nail it up.

We took the easy way out and just used the off the shelf stuff from Lowes. I replaced all 6 doors in the hallway and since the house was made in The 50's, the walls arent a standard thickness. So it isn't really anything fancy, just a cleaner upgrade.
