Thought about it but I might keep it black and just put fde rail panels on. I got them on my 11.5 to add contrast to the black.

Cabelas has the Federal .30 cal cans with 420rds of 5.56 back on shelf.

Still higher priced but not "no lube" high like before at regular shops.

Does a FMJ bullet just hit that and fall to the ground?

As long as it’s under 3000fps, apparently. At least that’s what it’s rated for.

FMJ will hit it and splatter, similar to a water balloon striking an object at high velocity but with shards/fragments that can be dangerous at close range.

I had a Viper pst 1-4x24. Now they’re discontinued and I’m about to get another one. I’m gonna look into the Ranger

Yea. I use a full size torso silhouette steel target and the splatter from 5.56 and 7.62x51 ball really beat up the wooden posts and rubber straps that it hangs on. You want the correct minimum standoff distance depending on caliber to avoid catching fragments yourself or beating up the steel.

Interesting thing to try is to place your steel target in a cardboard box and shoot it. You will see all the spalling.

Have you put these to use yet, if so, how’d they treat you?
Mine seem to not like me as they frequently jam when trying to chamber from a fresh mag

2x4s are the worst. I made a henky one for down at that farm, so it can easily be fixed (some of the guys are better at hitting the legs) and so it can be broken down for storage. I kept warning the guys they're going to cut their hands if they don't use gloves, but had to let em learn the hard way.

Ordered a couple upgrades for the Tikka. The factory grip i wasn't a huge fan of. Really liked the MDT adjustable grip when I was checking out a Savage 110 elite precision. Plus it has a nice thumb rest on the strong side20210711_092328.jpg

Euro Optic would be your best bet $1150. Or Optics Planet with a coupon code to knock down the price. People complain about Optic Planet but I have nothing but good luck ordering part from them through out the years.
