I found 'em! Cobra PR255 (I 'borrowed' an interwebz image.) I still don't know squat about them, it's been 10 years since I used them, but they seemed to work great at Disney World when last used.

I was looking at PDF of the owners manual- 22 channels, some shared with FRS and GMRS, some individually to FRS and some individually to GMRS. The PDF says an FCC license is required to use the GMRS, but there's 8 channels of FRS available, so maybe they can be used w/o a license?

probably 0.5w radios. Can use the shared FRS/GMRS channels, but I believe not powerful enough to need license. Similar to those Midland Xtalkets that are common cheap radios

Mornin’ neighbors- got my sliders primed/painted, snorkel painted, and a couple of small things on the truck done this weekend. Now to mount everything and wait for the Amazon boxes to start pouring in for all of the kit purchased for the 7/17 trip. It was a good weekend!

Nice. I'm debating whether to pull and paint my grill now, or if I should just leave it chrome until after the trip. Got a couple other projects to do like the overhead hex rack, but I may wait until after the trip for that.

I ordered this neat little deflator kit from Amazon. I’m going to play with it today and get the deflator set and see how they work. When I was inflating at Assateague, I used the air pumps there but my pressure checker broke…. Make sure you bring a spare lol.
What PSI is good to run on AOAA type easy trails?

I figure AOAA is probable good to go at normal PSI unless it's super muddy. I could bring my spare pancake compressor just in case.

I start off at 18-20 PSI. Adjust if necessary. The trail scale is approximate, washed out trails can go from green to blue in a few yards. AOAA is known for narrow trails so plan on pinstripes.

I ran 37LBS for the first half of the day. My Buddy convinced me here down between to 20 to 25LBS. Once I did that it didn’t seem like I was bouncing around as much. Oh and there are air stations there to fill tires back up at the end of the day.

Sounds like anywhere from airing down some to normal will be good. Maybe I’ll split the middle and do 23psi.
Maybe I’ll find a spot there I can actually learn and use the locking rear diff and crawl control.
Not too concerned with pin stripes… I’ll just get that OR buffer I’ve had my eye on. My wife will probably care more than I will.

I suppose my next mod should be mounting points for limb risers, huh?

Does anyone have any experience with offroading and camping or overlanding in WV? I'm trying to find a few places I might be able to take a weekend trip. I know @68dave has some property and I'm more than happy to visit, but I also don't want to invite meself lol. I'm looking for alternatives as well. Thanks!

My buddy Campo (the Air Force General) on the mountain is selling his place that's down the road from me. Sucks because this was our party spot. Some of you guys here had the pleasure of hanging out at his place, real cool guy. Him, his meat smoker & 70acres of trails will be missed.

Well damn, man. If only I had a cool half mil. That place looks gorgeous! All we need is about 90 TW'ers to kick in $5k each haha
