Asking an opinion, so it looks like I may not get my sliders in with enough time to weld them on (been over 8 weeks). Currently, I have taken the running boards off, as a last resort do you guys think it would be worth putting them back on as some sort of protection? I don't mind trashing them, but could this cause more bad then good? Thanks...
    Running list:

    2. @Shveet
    3. @Pat613
    4. @philth (17th only)
    5. @Tridet167 (looks promising)
    6. @honkonbobo + Jeep
    7. @CaygeonRunner (Trying to take Friday off)

I used mine before I got sliders. Figured they are trash anyways so didn't care of they got damaged. It does help keep the impact away from the body of the truck. Most likely they will bend but since you don't care, I would say use them for now.

This pretty much. They could act as a damage multiplier too like a brush guard but I doubt it.

Mine were"nerf step bars" which are probably better than running bars for protection. @CaygeonRunner what do your running boards look like?

1625949044103172620068218322139.jpg They are just the factory aluminum and plastic. I have already crunched them a few times and they seem to bounce back, don't know how they will take a deliberate impact though...better then nothing for now I guess. I might try and weld up some reinforcements if I find the time. Or maybe my sliders will just magically show up early this week.o_O

It will help absorb some force. I would say keep them on for now.

On the topic of sliders, since I've only been out to Ardbeg and currently have no sliders, how does this trail compare to Ardbeg? Even the hard offshoots I've been ok with at Ardbeg. Thoughts?

Never been. Technically they could be comparable since they are rated the same but it’s so hard to tell since the trail ratting system is deceiving. Like Ardbeg south is a level 3 trail but Scoth line is a 2+. However I wouldn’t have a newb run at Scoth line for tacos. Ardbeg though no issue.

check out the videos I posted on page one or two and see what you think.

Right I hear ya. I'll check out the vids, that'll give me a better idea.
A lot of those offshoots at Ardbeg arent a problem for the Runner, shorter wheel base really helps

Oh yeah it does. It’s going to be interesting with the trees. Not as wide as North or south at Ardbeg.

Even after watching I'm still not sure. Would definitely go if I had sliders. Hmmmm. @Tridet167 what do ya think? You've seen the Runner wheel the off shoots at Ardbeg. Think we can manage? I need to place that slider order.

chances are you are gonna know your rockers are at risk when you come up to an obstacle (just watch for hidden trail side stumps). at that point you could look for another line or bypass? might be a small handful of times at most not enough to bail on a weekend :boink:. plus we got yer back .
