This is a older picture (I’ve since modded the 940) and never realized that I never shared it here.

I believe it was made in 2003-4 and hardly any information is out there about it. Makes one wonder what others are out there?

in a world of modern folders, i have been carrying this for a few weeks. just pulled it out of a drawer and lubed it with fishing reel oil. it is friggen fun. it is by far the sharpest of my pocket knives and the easiest to get sharp. old school carbon steel. gives my pockets a break from the pocket clip. kinda nice to just drop a thin profile pocket knife into a pant pocket. i have been using it daily and the patina is taking on a weird spotted look. started with smearing on soft goat cheese onto a bagel for the wife. party limes for margaritas took it further. i can open it one handed easy by holding the blade and flip it downward to let inertia pull the handle down..with a click. yea, closing it takes two hands. it is an Old Timer 50T, the handle is green (looks black in photo)

Very nice work. Both designs look unique and proper on the knives you put them on. I would be proud to carry those ;)

planning to get spyderco ladybug salt h1. what are your thoughts on serrated or hawkbill serrated? plain edge is more versatile and will cut thru anything serrated can. serrated/hawkbill seems more gimmicky to target more customers. everyone saying get the hawkbill. also h1 im reading plain edge sucks doesnt hold edge well/dulls but the serrated is better "work harden" grinding process causes it to harden making serrated last longer. could just all be internet bs lol. have delica its more home use im a small knife guy. dragonfly is perfect size to carry and ladybug will hopefully be my last one. also h1 scratches easily so im back/forth on regular vg-10 in plain or h1 serrated. selling point h1 doesnt rust but how often does guy just cut boxes around house need rust resistance.

i JUUUSSST used my spydie Dragonfly to save my ass yesterday. i threw my frog to a rising bass. in my excitement, i put way too much juice behind my cast and it went into the tule. it fully wrapped up so i took my kayak closer to free my frog. to say i got tangled up was an understatement. i almost broke my rod and everything. wind and current effed me up.

i have the serrated blade and it light sabered thru the fiberous reeds so easily. i dont think you can go wrong with either choice. i think my regular serrated blade is a winner. but i can see the hawkbill would be great too..especially for what i had to do yesterday.

Serrated blades are what most rescue knives are. Like you discovered they really cut through stuff that could mess you up easily. I have a an old salt 1 serrated that stays with the yak for that purpose.

My Rescue has always been one of my favorites. It can slice thru some thick ass webbing quickly.

How do y’all like this Tengu with vintage cheddar paper micarta scales? The natural darkening down the center is referred to at the bacon strip. Lol

I have a shit ton of Milwaukee tools, and I like them a lot. So, I bought a couple of Milwaukee knifes, and really like 2 of them, the smaller black folder is mighty hard to close, I've tried lubing it with my gun oil, better, but still way hard to move the blade lock out over to close. The red spring assisted folder is great, nice strong hold on the handle, sharp, strong blade, I like this one for everyday carry. The 4" fixed blade is the same, nice handle to hold strongly, sharp and strong blade from the factory. These are work knifes, no high end beauties like I see posted in here all the time, that I love looking at.IMG_0487.jpgIMG_0488.jpgIMG_0467.jpg

I'm now in the Esee club. This thing is a lot beefier than it looks online and sharp as anything I've handled. The two part sheath is awesome.
