I think she's gonna recover, might only have to spend a night or 2 in the doghouse........

I'm gonna test fit the 285s this weekend, but will probably be selling them. I'm really not wanting to cab mount chop or anything and wanna just go a little taller than the 265/75/16. Got my eyes on the 275-70-17 ST Maxx. Hate that its a 10 ply, but oh well....more research to be done.

I've got St maxxs right now but can't get them in my current size do to supply issues right now. They are a tough tire. I'm impressed with how deep some sidewall cuts are with no cord damage. Great tire if you want something to beat hard off road. They are a little harsh on the streets but not terrible.

Looking for a camper shell if anyone has one laying around they don’t use. For a 2012 DCSB.

Well they fit, and look really good IMO. These trucks were made for 285s. It’s a shame they don’t have enough power to effectively turn them.

Only rubbing is on the inner fender plastic. Think the 5100s are on the second notch. Nothing out back. Needs just a little more i think. Or I could put the 265s back on, or goto 275s.

Plenty of power for 285s. Just wait until maybe 2500 rpm to shift instead of 2000.

Looks great! Adding more lift isn't going to help you clear the tires any more. At ride height it will but when you begin to articulate the suspension your tire is still being pushed up into the same spot it is now and further.

Getting ready to leave for Silverton on July 23rd to return on August 2nd.

TW member @MedlinAround shared this video of the San Juan Mountains in that area. I plan to run these trails. I think he did a great job with the video.

We're headed out to Ouray weekend after Labor Day if plans hold. We'll be curious to hear about what you ran and how the trails were.

Good deal. I'll stay the last two days in Ouray before coming back. I see a number of trail directions start in Ouray and end in Silverton. I'll be happy if everything stays dry. I think there about 30 of us "hard heads" that going for the week that would have been 100s in the hills. The town of Silverton wouldn't agree to any events this year in the town meeting hall this year. I think it may be less crowded with the small group. I think there was an FJ event that was also cancelled.

We're looking at maybe Imogene, Alpine Loop and Yankee Boy Basin, whatever else comes up. Looks like they ran Black Bear in the vid, but that one is not on my wanna do list.

I totally understand about Black Bear. It's ok if I do it and ok if I don't. There are plenty of other sites in the area to see. I understand there are three white knuckle switchbacks that require some spotting. Fortunately, the 100 has a fairly short turning radius for something of its size. I have seen some F250s make it. My concern would be to meet another vehicle on the trail and having to be on the outside and sliding off the ledge.

The one trail that I know that I won't try is Poughkipsie and the wall. I'm just too heavy to try the wall. I might topple over backward. LOL

I know that I'm over the GVWR. I need to go weigh to find out how much over.

If I do run Black Bear I will be going with some other 100s that know the trail. I would be following along.

Pretty sure Black Bear is only drivable one way and I think there is a very doable bypass to get around the wall. Either way you’re going to have a blast and see amazing country. I’m pulling my off-road camper out there so I think we want to camp more and drive less. Those passes will wear you out.

I’ve ridden all of those and more on a dual sport bike. But that was years ago and I understand that Colorado has changed a lot. Silverton was my favorite town in Colorado, I like Ouray too.
