    Hi All,
I'm pretty new here and don't post much but have a question about an older Tacoma. I looked at a 2012 Access Cab in Super White with 101,900 miles on the 4 cylinder. After getting used to driving one again, I had a 2015, I found the thing just didn't have acceleration and the braking was poor. I turned down the deal but am wondering if the truck really should have shown that lack of performance? Thinking about it, I didn't bounce the accelerator to drop it in to a lower gear, maybe that's all it was. What I remembered was how well my 2015 did and that I should have kept it. TIA

If the 4 cyl you test drove was an automatic, then what you experienced is normal. They have a 4spd so they are really a dog compared to the 5 speed manuals behind the same 2.7L.

Yes and an automatic to boot. It was a 2015 equipped the same way in the sense of a 4 cylinder and automatic transmission. I'm actually driving a KIA now, I was into a 4x4 Taco quad cab R5 with the slightly smaller 6 cyl. The payments got to be too much. :(

ETA: Thanks for the replies, I found the VIN on the Access Cab if anybody wanted to look it up. Presuming that's acceptable to the mods.
