Lunar Rock Gen III Thread

Hey guys,

Love this thread! I’m hoping to pick up my first Tacoma this year, and right now I’m leaning towards Lunar Rock as a color. Anybody had any issues with the quality of the paint? Just want to make sure there aren’t any known issues like I’ve seen people mention with the super white.

 

Thanks! I was sure to order two! Seems kind of expensive for some pieces of plastic, but it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than swapping in new lights!

How do you like them so far?

 

Love these pics! On my screen the paint color here is very close to what I see in person. Most pics I see just aren't close to the real color.

 

You guys are making me want to go out and take glamour shots of my truck. Will this one do?

I read that the 2022's will offer the Trail version in Lunar Rock. Do we know yet if they'll offer the TRD OR in Lunar Rock? I have a 2018 in Blazing Blue, but I'm pretty tempted to move to a newer one in Lunar Rock.. especially if the newer Tacomas also offer Android Auto.

I can also confirm fitment with no issues... also admit that I didn’t realize they were sold in pairs either

 

I'm wondering the same thing. I had planned on going with a TRD OR, but the Trail Edition is pretty tempting depending on pricing. Either way, I'm leaning towards LR as the color. Have only seen it in person a few times driving by. Planning on going to a dealership this weekend to hopefully see it in person up close. (Obviously most likely on a different model)

 

The trail edition gets the fantastic bronze wheels, no?

 

How are you liking them? Do you have any problems with dust/dirt or moisture behind the covers?

 

Gents, here’s my humble contribution to this wonderful thread. I took this pic (with my cell phone) of my LR Pro sitting pretty in the mall parking garage. Hopefully, one day she’ll be off road in the desert too.

 

Correct. That's a fantastic looking truck imo. Just curious as to how the pricing compares with an OR. It's an SR5 with the appearance upgrades, locker, slight lift, bed compartments (which I'd remove honestly), and probably some other things. So I'm curious if it comes in below or above the OR. Also not sure what availability will be like considering it's a "Special Edition?"
