Some of the homes already have frame work being done, but the builder posted up an aerial view video of where our house is being built

Getting to 200* around town (less air movement and the radiator is already at 194 or so) isn't too concerning but if you're feeling slow engagement and poor shifting that is a concern.

I need to switch the thermostat's position so that the jiggle valve is at 6 o'clock. Running a good 10 degrees warmer than I'd like.

Because I knew I'd be draining the coolant, I figured I'd also add a transmission cooler (due to all the extra weight).

It's all preventative really. I had bought the transmission cooler awhile back, as it was sitting in my pile of parts :anonymous:

    Agree.

I've read (not experienced) erratic shifting due to varying fluid levels.

Too much or not enough causes the Aisin to act funny.

Again only what I've read on many different threads.

Yeah with these temps I wouldn't be as concerned with the 200, but with the funky shifting and revving all of a sudden it got my attention. I tend to learn as I go and I don't have a lot of the mechanical knowledge some of you have, which is frustrating at times, but I'm happy to get the shop to look at it for this. I gave him a breakdown of what all I was noticing so we'll see.

Finicky little beasts. (I'd be stoked if it ends up being a fluid issue or an easy to fix leak I can't see.)

There isn't a ton to adjust on a A340, but hopefully if they notice wear they can touch up the internals before it becomes a real issue. New clutches and pump (ghetto rebuild) is far cheaper than a full internal replacement

In the meantime I'm going to throw my rear shocks on next day or so, at least slowly get the checklist down.

Yeah I don't want to think about a full internal replacement. That would be a bummer. Especially with 87K, but then again the first owner could've been doing a lot of towing or something.

There are solenoids that are cheap and easy to replace (can cause your issues) and there is one internal adjustment in the valve body for cranking up the line pressure (i prefer it with more pressure, but some people would rather the trans shift softer at the cost of some of its life span)

    That's good to know, thanks.
I'd actually prefer pressure as well.
