So ASO destroyed my play account for calls. I’m way down in it so now I’m gonna crawl my way back. Played shares on UNCY IPO this morning. Got in on the dip and got out with a 48% gain. Not bad for 2 hours while working. Had my SL set too in case it got too busy.
Just had one of my regular commercial customers come in. Known as Crazy Dave. Every conspiracy theory known to man is in this guys head. Went on a rant about some new delta variant. Anyone anticipating another large dip in the market if something like this were to really pickup momentum? I haven’t been following any of the newer variant data or anything, but as far as I can tell the red days we’ve been experiencing were more of market trying to correct more than anything.

 

If you have the vaccine (any of them) you're fine. Generally asymptomatic even if you catch the Delta variant.

That being said, it put like a dozen kids in critical care in Mississippi, so it's definitely more potent if you didn't get the shot.

 

I did read Australia shut down pretty heavily again. I hope that doesn’t happen here for the sake of living normally again, but also for what could happen to the market.

 

could you imagine if the govt told us all we had to go back to lock down? everyone would go ballistic after this taste of freedom. in my heavily touristed town, everything has never been more at capacity. its bonkers

That's what happens with full lock down. You never have a burn through so you spend every moment opening, small %...LOCK DOWN!!!
U.S. has had a burn through so we're good with vaccines and exposure immunity...We'll be kicking it at the Barbie with our Shrimp while they all continue to shelter in place...

 

it's cause they didn't have a ton of vaccine...
they were really diligent on the shelter in place stuff, so they decided they could get by without as much vaccine...
that was all well and good until the delta variant came along.

it's all literally about the vaccine (despite the naysayers)...
gonna be a while till other countries get up to the same vax rates...
so supply chains/production/tourism is going to be stunted for a while.

the market doesn't care about covid anymore..not in any sort of meaningful way anyway.
and we're sure as shit are not going back to lockdown...maybe locally where you have low vax rates + delta outbreaks....but even then, don't think there's much stomach for that anymore.

 

i remember the days when people would complain about over-population and then would say something along the lines of "we need a new plague"

now those same people are worried about the health of every living being and complaining about over crowded areas spreading the plagued they wished upon

 

Same with Thailand, based on a call I was on this morning.

With that said, I'm still not getting the jab.

 

Got out of my meeting and noticed my limit never hit so I adjusted accordingly

 

Today sucked. Yesterday sucked. This week sucks. Last week sucked. Week before sucked. The last month has sucked. Down 19% the last month. Can something change now please...

 

You know what I do when the day sucks? I go fishing... or cover dead bodies in lime...

 

The second sounds fun. Would definitely get my mind off the markets.
