So in this scenario, is the ticker SHEN not being traded after today until the 3rd of next month? Also end of Business means End of Business day not market right? If that's the case. Their HQ is on east coast time so I could sell off in after hours, still receive dividend on the 3rd?

so the way divy stocks typically work is that people buy up to the ex div date so they receive the dividend...then the stock sells off buy the respective amount:

the stock will continue trading as normal, all that changes is who receives the dividend.

 

I see. Was just thinking, because I'm sure tomorrow it will drop some as people sell off, but as long as it doesn't drop a full 18.75 then I'm chilling. If I'm awake during pre market may just off load it then to lock in the free money.

They do. I had this happen with something late last year. It scared the beejezus out of me before I figured out what was going on.

 

I was poking around the USED Hertz fleet sales they have here in MA.
They would be lemon law qualified and seem to be reasonably priced for 2 year old cars with 40-50K miles...
