    Hey Guys,

not entirely sure if this is allowed as I'm not an approved vendor or advertising for one. But here goes.

A buddy of mine who has a fabrication shop in Rancho Cucamonga is trying to branch out into the offroad market and made his first 2nd gen HC rear bumper this past week. Pic posted at the end of the post. At the moment, I don't want to get too into pricing as that's what got my post deleted from a couple Facebook groups, so until I get an admin seal of approval, I'll hold off.

What I can tell you is that he wants to build them for 2nd and 3rd gens (3rd gen once he gets someone in there to test fit and make sure he can have a template for easier production), is willing to add options for swingouts, powdercoating, and the price would include in-shop install, all at a competitive price, more so if there were bulk orders. Lead times projected at like 1-2 weeks during normal times, probably about 4-5 weeks if they're slammed with other work. Probably add a week for powdercoating, likely less as I know they go to their powdercoater multiple times a week. Shipping would also be an option for those too far to drive in.

Let me know your guys' thoughts and interest, don't wanna waste his time with 1-2 orders as that would likely be more expensive, but if there was a decent amount of interest, it would be a lot more profitable for him and cheaper for you guys so it'd be a win-win. For reference, they designed the first one in about 7 days, including taking all the measurements to have the fitting. Now that he has the template for 2nd gens, he can bust those out pretty quick. Same will be true once he has the template for 3rd gens, and he does want to expand into front bumpers, or other fabricated parts as well if there's enough interest/business coming in for it.

here's a pic of the 2nd gen one he built. Let me know your thoughts, just trying to give back to the community while I help a buddy's shop flourish, I have no affiliation with his shop other than him being a regular shooting and occasional fishing buddy of mine.

Interested in pricing, weight, current lead times and way more pics especially of past work and weld quality.

Literally in the market right now for a rear HC bumper.

Not sure about the steel flairs on the sides? Also wondering if removing the rear fender flairs is required?

I have a truck identical to the one in the pic. I like how it has a hitch as well. What about recovery points and spot for a plate/lights?

Assuming stuff can get answered/addressed, willing to talk about putting down a deposit.

But need references. Having a bro post for you when you don't have any cred in the local community just raises a red flag.

    Yeah definitely understand the concerns.

Pricing right now is somewhere in the 13-1500 range, less if there's a bulk order. The flares on the side could be modified to flat for sure, that's just exterior plating that he's open to customizing. don't have to remove the fender flares, that guy just had em removed as personal preference.

I totally forgot to ask him about recovery points, will do so today as well as a cutout for lights. Was also talking to him about maybe moving the hitch up inside the bumper, and widening the rear panel to allow for the plate to sit over it. I'll get back to you on that as well.

Definitely understand wanting more info/references/pictures of work quality. Only reason I'm posting for him is because he has a newborn so he would barely have time to keep up on updates as it is now, but I'm trying to get him started on an account on here simply for the fact that it would seem more legitimate. The shop has mostly done construction fabrication which is why there aren't more pics of work, as that was their first bumper built.

Will check back in with updates on all the mentioned questions either later today or tomorrow morning.

No update at the moment. Forgot he's out on a deep sea fishing trip right now so may be a few days before I get an answer on those questions.

Probably a tall order but wonder if he's thought about doing a dual swing out version as well...?

Looking at my needs and I keep coming back to the fact having my spare in the bed sucks balls and having it on the bumper would make my life a lot easier.

Yeah that was one of the first things I'd asked him, he was saying it wouldn't be too hard at all to build a couple brackets for the swingouts to mount onto off the angled corner panels, or modify it otherwise. He got back to me today, I'll screenshot his texts and upload the pics of his shop's work. Lots of welds and info. give me like 10-15 :)

Edit: May be a little longer...taking a ridiculous amount of time to upload. figuring it out

Hey buddy, I get your motive for throwing it up here and seeing if you can help a buddy build a business. I do the same thing. I hope your buddy does well.

I'll keep you posted haha. gonna chat with him more about it this week now that he's back from his trip. stay tuned!

thanks brotha, appreciate the kind words! Always trying to help out friends, and by extension, TW members are friends as well. If I can help a local small business who can build quality bumpers for enthusiasts at a competitive price with more than competitive lead times, it's a win-win all the way around

Agreed. And the fact he offers installation as well is hugh.
If he can put out product in the fashion that you described and is willing to listen to feedback from users on how to improve and/or tweak his design, that’s a win win.
