I don't even fucking get it. Parts get discontinued all the time. The OEM for the 1st gen rad is tits up anyway, why would they source another after 15 years.

Its not like Denso has stopped making them, I don't get it. It's like he wants to pay more.
Even years ago when I got one from a dealer it was Denso.

The original manufacturer was Harrison. They went tits up and for a short while Toyota source them from denso. What you get from denso now isn't the same thing but it's still plenty fine and actually I had argue that the TYC one is better quality. Not every OEM part is the best quality you can get they're still great stuff out there in the aftermarket so I don't get the bitching

    Yep

And weren't there different versions of said radiator that went into 1st Gen Tacomas than 3rd Gen 4Runners?

At least that's what I think I gathered from my co-worker.

4Runners came from Japan and I believe they're OEM radiator was provided by trad before Toyota got out of the business of making their own radiators entirely

Wasn't aware of how different they were but yes I learned they were sourced differently than those for Tacoma's

    Yep. Mine's still going. :anonymous:
I believe my 100 still had an og Harrison in it as well before I swapped it. Could be wrong, but I remember it wasn't a Denso.
I totally agree not every OEM is superior. Doorhandles are one example off the top of my head that I think handily fall in that category.

I'm running an aftermarket radiator in the Lexus. I can't remember the name. That's the way I want to keep it. :stirthepot:
