Yup. Had that exact issue. I used 3° shims and that eliminated it for me.

Toytec 3 Degree shim. Funny enough it helped a ton but then using the diff drop along with it helped more so I run both. I still have some vibes only very slightly to where I notice but I chalk that up to needing new U joints.

I also have the Toytec 3° shims installed and haven't noticed any vibrations.

Picked up half a yard of river rock today. Pretty good leaf springs I must say.

So basically leave the outer part of the boot alone, and move the inner part closer to the diff?

Yes. Leave the biggest side of the boots alone and slide the smaller side down the shaft. Search for "boot mod" in the 1st gen section and it should come up.

Okay I'll check it out. I'd like to rebuild mine since they're OEM and could save some cash.

I thought the same thing once upon a time. The Hassel of rebuilding and dealing with THAT grease is greater than the worth to me. Parts house boots are fairly cheap but won’t last. Maybe OEM boots or the special boots out there just for lifted 1st gens would last longer. The lifetime warranty $100+/- axle does it for me. I don’t do any serious off-roading so they last plenty. Run them until it’s puking grease and stick in another one.
Jack it up, pull wheel, break big nut, 3 bolts for LBJ, swing out of way and have new axle sitting there ready, pop out old and pop in new with minimum fluid leakage. I’ll boot stretch the new one straight out of the box.

Is there a "best" version out of all the auto parts stores? Like Autozone, Napa and O'Reilly?

Others may pipe up but I’ve got with the Autozone store brand. Duralast I believe it is.

I'm debating on buying reman ones from Napa if they offer lifetime warranty on them and just do that. Then rebuild my oem ones and use them whenever I need to to limit my downtime.

hey yall, it's been a while. My OME setup has been doing me solid. ride was real stiff at first but its gotten a lot better. For the people running 882 coils up front, when the coil was put on did it bow out at all? mine did and now it sits straight since it's broken in. Today we got my friends from a shop that put the 882's on his struts, the same setup as mine and all of yours, and said he wasn't going to charge us at all because he didn't want there to be a liability issue with the bowing saying he's never seen that and some one could get hurt. couldn't help but be paranoid. so did any of yall have this same bowing issue?

    Thanks
