Oh man, I noticed this right away with my Tacoma (I've only had it a couple of months). It freaked me out at first. Luckily once the water dried there was no stain. I am going to Scotchgard at least though, and am looking at seat covers as well.

I really like the "Softex" (fake leather) in our 2016 RAV4. It cleans up SO NICE and easy.

These look great. Are they pretty easy to remove and wash? Good for dogs?

They have a foam backing, so prob just hand washing. I had the same covers in my 03 Tundra, never had to washed them, but after 18+ yrs they were due to replace.
When I traded the Tundra in, we pulled covers off and oringinal seats still looked new. I am going to buy a cheap pair to go over these for when Dog rides in front seat, but also plan to build a platform in the back seat for the dog.
Seat Covers unlimited has some better fabric for spill/dog proofing

Sorry to resurrect this old one...I was about to pull the trigger on the Carhartt Seat Savers. But now I wonder should I consider Bartacts.

I had Wet Okoles for years in the last Tacoma, and they were a total pain to install. So they stayed on the truck for years till it went back (a lease). If it didn't take 2+ hours to get the Wet Okoles - I would have washed them more regularly. But instead they stayed on other than a few spot treatments here and there, ended up getting fairly grimy.

And yes, the seats looked brand new when I was returning the lease, but shit did the foam/cushioning deform! Looked near unnoticeable if you didn't pay attention, but I immediately saw the effect of having those suckers on for years. They weren't reefed down with a trucker's hitch either, just strapped down to conform to the seats. Makes me weary of sliding Bartacts over the leatherette in the 2021.

For me in Canada, the price difference frankly isn't huge - its a question of convenience in removal/reinstallation for cleaning. The loose fit of Carhartt Seat Savers is just fine with me. The truck is a mess most of the time with camping and kid gear strewn about. I just need to be able to take em' off easily to clean, and not have to worry about the seat cushioning staying in its compressed state if the cover's come off some day.

So for those who run Bartacts - how long you reckon they take to install?

Are the Bartacts so tight-fitting you'd worry about the seat cushioning staying compressed if they stayed on for years at a time?

Just looked these @Bannerman - looks NICE! Might have to do them. Are yours over cloth or leather seats? My Sport has leather and it's too damn slippery - but I worry about a cover still slipping on the seat itself!

I have had the seat savers for 7 years now (2 sets - 4 years in a tahoe and now 3 years in my taco) and I have zero complaints about them. They handle my dogs hair/nails well and are easy to remove and put back on once you get the hang of it. I will also say that mine seem to fit much more snug than the pic of the seat savers on a prior page. One caveat: I only have them in the back because that's where the dogs stay, so I can't comment on the fit for the front seats.

I've had the Bartacts for about 6 months now, and they are fantastic. Took me about 2-2.5 hrs to install front and rear covers. Then maybe another hour a couple weeks later to adjust them a little. And while they are very tight fitting, I don't see any possibility of them having any effect on the seat materials.

Something to consider on seat covers: Make sure they allow the deployment of the seat mounted airbag. You should see some kind of breakaway portion on the door side of the front covers if they are equipped to do so.

These are kinda dark, the picture makes them look lighter for some reason.

Carhartt Grays installed. They are not as tight fitting as some others, but I like them regardless. Looking good over the last year of use.

Well not sure anyone here has experienced this. I just received a set of the gravel Carhartt seat savers front and rear. Box indicates "side airbag" for the fronts, and box for the rear says 7 pieces, including 3 headrest covers.

My front don't have the airbag cutouts - nothing, not a loose stitch closing the cutout like a suit jacket pocket. Nada. Just plain sides with no provision for an airbag on either seat.

And the box with the rear - no headrest covers.

Coverit Canada, apparently the only distributor here in Ontario for Seat Savers, were very nice to deal with over the phone and I received them less than 5 days after ordering them. Now I'll see if they can fix this for me. And they better not be asking me to pay return shipping.

Just shy of 7 hundo for the whole set. Yes, our dollar doesn't go very far these days...

When I received my covers I did call Carhartt customer service and they assured me that the stitching on the side of the covers would tear if airbag deployed. Hope I don’t need to find out. A friend of mine bought different seat covers and his are completely solid on sides with no stitching or seams visible so I’m not sure what will happen with those.

Grey Seatsavers, they fit pretty good and work ( as the name suggests). I made the mistake of not getting them for my 2nd Gen in 09 and the seats were F-ed by the time it was totaled
