Getting started with a stock truck

    You'll like it. I'm by no means an expert welder, but I can stick to pieces of metal together.

    I still haven't converted to gas yet, but the flux core is about as simple of a setup as you can imagine. Just make sure the polarity is correct. Mine came set up for gas, and you have to reverse the grounding polarity for flux core.

    Oh that's easy, lol. I'm sure your truck could use some sliders or a 4 link...

    I'd go to a local fab shop, they usually have a ton of scrap they'd love to get rid of. Or just hit up home depot for a few sticks of 1" flatbar.

    I never thought of getting scrap to practice with! I could make sliders out of 6" scraps! It might look a bit odd, whatever :)
