I mean, some vendors are selling it for $150 and less. On a $38,000 vehicle. It’s less than 1% of the purchase price of said vehicle. Is it really that senseless of a purchase?

Well, if you put that money into a retirement account you might be better off down the road.

When it comes to money the hardest things folks need to learn is the difference between want and need.

I hear what you're saying, but what percentage of people on this forum "need" a nearly 40k truck? Seems like a majority of them would be better served by buying a used Prius and putting that remaining $25k into an investment account or purchasing gas for their commute to work, no? Seems superfluous to split hairs over minor purchases when most people on this forum are already well over a dozen or so thousands of dollars into depreciating assets as it is.

But is it a depreciating asset? Only thing f you sell, trade or junk it. I have two vehicles 43 & 39 years old that are worth considerably more that the purchase price.

Too many folks want the newest want bestest then later cry about being in debt or lose to repossession.

I got an inexpensive grille insert, changed out the chrome plastic nuts around it for some black anodized, and found a toyota badge and stuck it on there

It makes way more sense with raptor lights and if you add 18-20” fuel wheels it really
    Sets it apart!

Are you talking about 18 year olds? If everyone lived their lives based on need versus want then capitalism would die, competition would die and we should all just be communists.

Most people lease or finance their vehicles based on payments so your points are all moot. No one is losing their vehicle over a grill...

No way I’m doing either of those things for a stupid truck. I’m not an idiot.

Nah, I’m not poor and I have a payment. Depends on interest and where you want to invest your money.

I personally felt the 2016 Sport grille had too much chrome for me, so I bought an OEM Pro grille when they were first available. I don't mind seeing lots of Pro grilles on the road just like I don't mind seeing lots of Tacomas on the road.

I got a 2016 too and went with the mesh option. I have to agree though that if I had TSS, I would probably go with the new OR grille or the pro as I personally am not a fan of the mesh version with TSS cut out.

T-Rex grill with black bezel. Blacked out all the badges and added the Tacoma on the tail gate. The windows have been tinted to the darkest law will allow.
I had the the pro Grille for a week, it didn’t look good on a Access Cab (who knew) so I put my T-Rex back on. :)

Not a pro grill. Got this one from Empyre Off Road. Easy install and I’m very happy to not look like all the other Tacomas on the road.

I really like the pro grill, before I got my truck I thought it would be a must-do mod, it's not expensive.

But it turns out I quite like the stock grill in my '21 OR. It would be even better totally blacked out but for me it's not a big enough difference to bother right now.
