I recently upgraded to a pioneer mvh-1400NEX with a maestro rr. When using CarPlay I am able to use all the audio control buttons on the steering wheel. For some reason the Siri button and the answer phone button don't work but the hang up button does. I talked to Idatalink support and they said everything seemed to be functioning on the RR like it should and that it's a problem with the Pioneer. I talked to Crutchfield support and it sounds like you can't retain the Siri/phone controls in 2nd gen Tacomas. Is this right/has anyone been able to find a work around for this?

when i say hey siri, it picks up for me in my Taco when i have the phone plugged in and apple car play connected. I programmed my buttons on the RR to answer, hang up and then do the gauge functions. If my phone is connected with Carplay, i simply say Hey Siri and it comes up on the screen. If i receive a text message, it also pops up on the screen and it will read the message. I can say reply and siri will ask me what i want to reply with

Haven't tried the hey Siri function yet but I wanted to be able to use the bottom button on the right side of my wheel to activate Siri but when I press it it doesn't do anything

I dont have buttons on the right side of my wheel but it should be programmable in the module. I guess saying the Hey Siri would work and resolve the issue unless the button is really needed for something else
