Drink plenty of water and you should be good. I think the risk is pretty low if youre not hiking

Altitude sickness isn't at all a sure-thing. Before I moved to Colorado, I once flew from Chicago (~600') to Denver (~5000'), and drove then to spend the night in Leadville (~10,000') all within the same day. Even had a few drinks and sat in a hot tub. Felt a bit dehydrated, but generally fine.

Another time, I flew from Chicago to Colorado Springs (~6000'), spent a night, drove to Buena Vista (~8000') for another night, and then hiked to 14,000 and had a few sips of summit beer the next day. I did get some headaches from that--I think it was a sort of instant hangover from the beer--but was otherwise fine.

I'm not encouraging others to do the same (I know I've been fortunate), but there's a decent chance you'll be fine.

The two days you have to acclimate will help for sure. Lots of water is also wise. Avoid alcohol at altitude if you're feeling really paranoid.

Yeah he's a big goofball baby, big like a boxer but thinks he's small like a terrier. Really good with our daughter, in fact he gets between her and I like I'm going to hurt her lol.

Love when people have a rig for sale, but don't reply back when you reach out via their desired method of contact :jerkoff:

Those work for short bursts I take it?

Only ones I'm familiar with are actual air supply tanks; used something like this in the military -

Someone brought these up on the Mt Whitney fb group I follow but the consensus was that by the time you'd need them, you wouldn't have enough with you on that kind of a hike, and you should've descended long before they were necessary. They were trying to deter people from thinking it was a way to keep going despite getting altitude sickness.

Although definitely couldn't hurt to have in your emergency pack just in case

Being in a vehicle you can carry plenty to where it might help in an emergency. Plus you can always descend a lot faster than on foot.
