Amen brother, you have it figured out.:thumbsup: Your wife is a smart girl!

In my youth any job was tough to come by. To get in good places you had to know somebody. At the unemployment office, the lady said "I have 2 jobs, an Agway or a factory", I asked "which one pays more", she said "the factory", I said "I'll take it".

The hard learned lesson: It took my young dumb ass many years to figure out that some people actually enjoy their jobs. I was so thankful to have steady work the idea of enjoying it never crossed my mind. Never claimed to be sharp...

Trying to get things sorted for my wife's conference in February. I'm currently working on the rental car.

It's just the 2 of us so:

Go practical and get a perfectly adequate Corolla
Spend an additional $160 for a Jeep, just because

Last time we upgraded to a Mustang convertible and only had the top down 3 times. I'm foreseeing the Jeep being the same - paying extra for it only to spend more in gas, too. But I've also never driven a Jeep...

Still waiting on mine to come -- property taxes are due end of August so I won't be bothered with extra money sitting around. :pout:

Well, my one man save the iron campaign continues, 370 miles round trip bombing across central Pa to get another Wisconsin 2 cylinder. This one was worth the trip as it has electric start, generator, fuel tank, distributor ignition (others have a magneto) and a gear reducer on the output.

Engines with an enclosure, "house" in Wisconsin terms, were called "Power units". The top and side panels are missing (as usual). The bottom front of the house isn't badly rusted as many are, this engine didn't spend too much time sitting on the ground. :)

This thing weighs about 300 pounds, fortunately the guy had a skid steer to lift it.

Bet you don't have one of these in your back yard.

This 1957 Goggomobile has been on this pole in Williamsport Pa for at least 40 years.
It was powered by a 2 cylinder 2 stroke air cooled engine in the rear.
The smiley front grill is not original to the car.

I think many of us fall into the money trap . For years I went for the best paying jobs that sucked but having nothing to compare it with how does one know.

Funny How I loved this last job 15 years just flew bye up at 0300 never had an alarm

It was never about the money yet I can see how it can become about the money $1000.00 plus mortgage 2 vehicle payments student loans

In a holding pattern because no one is giving me their insight and because I haven't booked the flights yet so I don't know the pick up and drop off times.

Leaning towards the Heep, though. I have a beach I want to get to and the Mustang REALLY didn't like going down that road last time.
