No pics but installed a Max Bore Throttle body to get a little more throttle response vs all the BS electric voodoo available.. So far so good took a bit to get the idle to calm down but a nice little notice on tip in non the less..

I had no issues with running before the spacers. I just added them purely for aesthetic purposes

Girlfriend is about to head out on a road trip in her 2005 Tacoma. She has been noticing some extra sound from the serpentine belt area. I finally had a chance to check it out. Number 2 idler pulleys are starting to go. Planning to replace the belt before she leaves. Anyone have a sense of how quickly those pulleys go from a bit of noise to totally worthless and seized up? Not sure if we will be able to get the pulleys before she leaves, so wondering if I should send her down the road or tell her to postpone the trip. Pulleys felt pretty good, I am guessing they will be fine for another 2,000 miles until she gets back. Anyone concerned they might go from okay to seized in that time? Thanks!

Personally, I’d want to change them ahead of a trip that long. Realistically, if she has some common sense and a good ear, she can listen to them on the trip and find a shop if they suddenly start acting up.

But, my wife, with my daughter, I’d change them.

Thanks for the input guys. Very helpful. Hopefully we can get the part swiftly. If not, she is very attuned to the truck and can definitely get it taken care of if it starts going bad quickly and get to a dealer close to where ever she is at. She is also capable enough to do the swap, so I may order the parts a couple stops into her trip so she can pick them up and install them on the road. Appreciate the input!

Can’t comment if it’s a 4 banger, but it wasn’t exactly a pleasant job on a V6. Easiest to access the idlers from below by removing the skid plate.

I got a pair of powerstops in my garage I might have time to install next weekend. I'm not looking forward to the break in procedure though. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it done on the road outside my house. Usually has a lot of traffic.

How do you fee the bass is for now? Do you think you may want more later or is the 8'' fine. I'm leaning towards an * but not sure if should go with a 10

Taco got a little TLC this last week. At 125,000km heard the truck beginning to squeal on start up. Long and short, truck now has new serpentine belt and 3 new idler pulleys. Also truck had a faint sputter on start up after a 14hr drive, so replaced the plugs as well. Turns out the gap on old plugs was good but the electrode was definitely worn down. End result, on a 1300km drive with a 16ft canoe on the roof, off-road bumpers front and back the 4 banger averaged 10.7L/100km with lots of hills and no more squealing on start up. The old idlers had a small amount of wobble

Fyi for anyone replacing the idlers on the 4 banger, the idler on the tensioner is the same as the top idler. Heard some people report that they had to buy the whole tensioner arm
