If the 4Runner still came in a manual I would of purchased it in a heart beat over the Tacoma .

Which is sad considering the Limiteds used to be the most desirable model by far until the hideous 5th Gens came out.

Because they went through a generation change that the 4runner hasn't done yet. Just wait until the next gen 4runner, hopefully not the 3.5 but definitely won't be the 4.0. I'm guessing a turbo 4.

Are the 4Runner seats wider? Has anyone looked at swapping those into a Taco?

I wish it had a slightly stronger engine and the seats were a little more comfortable.

Actually, I sold my 2017 TRD OR to CarMax last night. 29000 miles on it over 41 months and they gave me $35,000.
Things really hold their value in normal markets but in this market it's crazy.

Mine comes out of a corner like a raped ape, so there is that.

Speaking of wife and cars, my wife commented the other day after I came out of a corner......you bought this truck because it drives like a sports car, so there is that Bueller.

Have you tried a Prius yet ? Economical, quiet, easy to park and 3x the mpg. Also you can put your coexist and Bernie stickers on it to really stand out from the crowd.

Do it. Add a small trailer for that 'hauling stuff', at least the dirty part.

It's easy to have a trailer that will have more capacity than a Tacoma bed, both cubic and weight wise.

Fact. There are more truck buyers that want a truck than need a truck.

    Dare to be different!

Agreed. Hard to compare two vehicles with completely different target audiences and purposes.

I love the looks of the 4R, but my love stops there. The 4R seriously needs an update. It's ancient technologically and mechanically. And it's mind boggling to me that there isn't a hybrid option for it, given the abysmal mpg.

yet you started another wish thread. It's like some of you want this truck to handle like a BMW, have the power of a Tundra, ride like a Cadillac, have a cabin area of a minivan and crawl like a Unimog.
When I was a kid and started "wishing" for things that were impossible, much like you are now, he would tell me "Son, why don't you go shit in one hand and wish in the other hand and see which one fills up first."

I follow a slightly more sophisticated analogy today and that is "An idea without a plan is simply a wish." Both of those sayings show the value of a wish, which equals zero.

If you wish for a vehicle like the 4Runner Limited yet require the ability to haul stuff, then plan to get a 4Runner Limited and a small utility trailer.
I really like the tailgate and rear bumper on the GMC Sierra AT4 yet I like my Tundra as a truck. I could post about it and "wish" Toyota would put a tailgate and bumper like that on my Tundra, or, I could just trade my Tundra in on a GMC AT4 and not post about it until I executed the deal.
