How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

I put my deposit down in mid-May. I finally got a temporary VIN today for my DCLB Barcelona Red TRD Sport 2WD. It's got a bunch of port options on it right now, but the dealer says they can still have those removed. I'm starting to get excited!

 

Damn it, my exact build minus the color just showed up at my dealer by coincidence... do I take it? I like army green so much more than grey unfortunately.... grrr

 

Scratch all that ladies and gentlemen.... My exact truck was just Allocated!!!

Estimated delivery date first week of September. I'm kind of in shock they actually found one. And they are guaranteeing MSRP.

The dealer told me they have a used 2020 SR5 on the lot listed for $45k. I'm getting my 2021 OR premium for $41k. Which means, my truck will gain nearly $10k in value when I drive it off the lot. Crazy world. Everything my parents told me about car buying is no longer true haha.

So I got a call from my salesman that "the truck is on the carrier and will be delivered tomorrow." I was in the area so I cruised through the lot, low and behold, my truck is sitting there with my name on the sold sticker. Why the dishonesty I wonder?

 

On 5/03/2021 I ordered my AG DC TRD OFF ROAD MT with other options. On 05/05/2021 I received a call that I got the allocation. The next month I get a call to say I lost the AG and need to go with Cement if I want the truck. I accepted since I like Cement too. Got a call that build date would be 06-17-2021. Truck was built on schedule. Got a call today 07-14-2021 that truck arrived and I can pick it up tomorrow after factory lift kit install. YES!!!!!!!

 

Ordered in Early March, just told today, they can’t make a Cement, AC, MT, TRD Sport - they want me to take the same truck in black, not gonna happen. No information if there are other color options, or if the ordered truck can be manufactured as an early 22? Not real impressed with. Byers Toyota in Delaware Ohio, or Toyota - neither one of them have any effort at Customer Satisfaction, or even a little respect…..

Cement Taco is discontinued for 2022. For a while in June Toyota website allowed LED headlights only on Cement trucks. As if factory was trying to get rid of cement paint.
Sounds like they finally did.

 

Did they originally give you an estimate when you ordered? I'm only curious because I placed an order with Byers (in Delaware, OH) early July, and the sales rep said he'd expect it to arrive mid August. He was pushing for a deposit because he said he needed to get the order in due to production schedule since it was MT. I'm not sure if he was full of BS but curious now. Everything I'm reading seems like this is unrealistic. But I don't want to waite 4-5 months.....I still don't have an official build date yet.

 

They told me I would have it in July, now the story is the build date is August - this is the latest delayed date. They are returning the deposit today, and promising to contact me when the revised trim, colors and costs are known. My opinion, they are long on excuse, and short on facts.

 

Just took delivery of my 21 trd OR here in Ontario in Canada. Ordered on April 1 and it came in on June 19th. I got the trd lift kit so it delayed the delivery by a few days to me. The dealership was not helpful at all in terms of timelines or anything. They just said it would be 3 months and they would give us continuous updates but never did. They didn’t even know when it was on the truck for delivery to the dealership either. Could have just been the ditzy sales guys too

 

Question, if you look at the date of first use when you look up the vin on the toyota site, what does it say? I ordered a truck and it's supposed to be here soon and it says date of first use July 14th. I'm wondering if my dealer is doing the same to me.

Also, we will be truck twins.

 

I’d bet it gets to you before the 15th. Wouldn’t be surprised if it got to you the first week of August.

 

for me first use still says January 01, 0001. but I plugged the VIN as my vehicle in the app and it says service history of "Pre-delivery service for usa all altitudes" on July 14.

You stuck with the regular headlights too? to get the LED ones here you need to get the full premium package. And I see you are also trading in a 2013 LB, what are they giving you?

I’m stuck with the regular LED daytime lights also. Are you planning on upgrading with after market headlights?

 

I'd love to get the OEM LEDs, but not really interested in spending $1500+ on them yet, people here seem to really trash a bunch of the aftermarket ones. So for now, no.

 

Sorry, I didn't realize you had the regular headlights. Hard for me to tell the difference when I don't have my truck yet but I got the premium package. They offered me 19 for mine.
