Here’s a pic of mine. Picked it up at the end of June. 2021 TRD Sport with everything I wanted for $43K which was the MSRP price. Got $20.5 for my old RAM for which I paid $24.5 four years ago. So I guess I came out ok.

Best of luck! Voodoo is pretty awesome. I was disappointed to hear it and cement won’t be offered for ‘22. Was he able to give you any kind of estimate on what kind of pricing to expect with the Costco program? I talked to my local dealer and couldn’t get an answer. They basically said I’d have to wait till the specific vehicle was built.

The Rep hasn't said anything yet. I will ask that question when I hear from him and crossing my fingers at least MSRP or lower than MSRP is what i'm expecting since i'm going with the Costco Auto Program.

100% go through the costco auto program. In this current crazy environment its the only way to get any sort of discount, dealers won't budge an inch off msrp without it. Last year I was able to get 6.5% off msrp, I purchased this last April and was only able to get 3.1% off msrp for reference (so it has gone down, but still 100% worth it.)

The allocation part is a bit confusing, but basically dealers get a specified list of cars "allotted" to them typically once each month, if the car you want is on that list and no one has purchased it, bam, its yours when it comes in. Otherwise if they are not receiving an allotment that matches your build, they can ask around other dealers and try to trade a similar vehicle, if not, they can request that specific build before the next allotment period and toyota might be able make it happen, but no guarantee, and you will have to wait much longer (months) typically.

If you are taking a "pre-built" allotment that is already built and in transit to the dealer you probably wont be able to take off much accessory wise. You get what packages and addons it has, unless its simple things that are install at the dealer like floor mats and door sills etc.

If you have your dealer "request" and allotment from the factory, they send what you want, and once toyota "agrees" to make the truck (sometimes they wont), the dealer will give you a temp VIN. With the temp VIN you can view it on toyotas website and verify it has the addons you want, factory options can not be changed (tranny, color, certain tech addons), port options can typically be added/removed if enough advance notice is given but not always. These options will be noted whether or not they are factory or port installed.

The whole allotment shit is confusing and not very straight forward, that is the gist of it, i may be wrong on some things, but thats close enough to how it works...

Thank you so much for your response, that cleared a lot of this up for me! Wish I could send you a delicious milksteak, boiled over hard, complete with the finest jelly beans for your assistance!

Hoping the Costco program can offer me a decent deal when the 22’s are available.

I wouldn’t count on the sales person from the dealership giving you the True Costco anything. Likely going to bullshit you. You have to go to the Costco website and then Costco sends your information to the dealer then they contact you with the Costco worksheet. Only certain dealerships have the partnership with Costco. But many will say yeah sure we have the Costco discount but it’s just a lie.

Yup. And a lot of times dealers will tell you that they can’t do what you just described about the allotment process in reality they just don’t want to. They would rather get a sale right now which is what most people will do as they will believe a dealer. I would think in this sellers market they would be less likely to be as accommodating as they usually need to be.

This. You have to go through the Costco program to get the “Costco guy.” Lots
Of dealerships advertise “Costco pricing,” but it is bullshit. At least in the Costco program, the price you get is contracted for and honest, no matter what the final price given market conditions is. I did my 2021 TRD OR DCSB 6MT in December for $250 below INVOICE and got exactly what I wanted. In fact the price went from $250 over invoice when I intercepted the alottment in September when I placed my deposit, to $250 below invoice when I took delivery in December — because that was the Costco agreement with the dealership that they must comply with to get the referrals.

I did that Costco Program and the "costco guy" called me after I submitted the specification from Costco. Just waiting for a call again hopefully this week or next week to see if it was allotted for this month. so the question for you guys is that, should I assume that the Costco pricing will be the "INVOICE PRICE" or "MSRP PRICE" with the specification that I submitted using the Costco Program?

From my experience, Costco works off of invoice price, either plus or minus. The dealership has to show you the invoice and are not allowed to add “market adjustments.”
The Costco contract with the dealership is a negotiated pricing structure between the dealership and Costco and they cannot vary from what the agreement is. In my case it was $250 over invoice in September when I placed my deposit, but it varies from month to month and was $250 under invoice In December when I took delivery.

right on guys, appreciate the information. I did go through the Costco site and then they contacted me so hopefully I’m on the right track! Definitely sounds like it’s still a good way to go.
