Can I solder on this other festoon connector?
I noticed the one that comes with it has a little silicon board between the ends.
My stereo and the "to small" festoon aren't agreeing with each other.

I have the original ultimate dome, one color. Has anyone had to replace the LED's? I only have like 6 working right now.

Just soldered on that festoon adapter and stuck on some dynamat pieces to the back to help with vibrations.
    Works perfect.

Want to order this, but my original meso done light crapped out on me about a year ago. Loved it while it lasted.

This is my only reservation about this product. Once you commit to this setup, the repair process isn't as easy as replacing a blown bulb. I'm hoping all the kinks get worked out so everyone can expect years (or decades) of trouble-free light output.

I’ve already had years with no issues. I think it’s a QC issue for the leds since leds don’t normally fail unless pushed hard and these aren’t.

I should post on here too just as a heads up. All of mine have quit working now, ultimate map, both colors no longer work and red dome is intermittent at best. It's too bad because they are a great product and Meso is awesome. Just needs to find a better set up for them to last longer.

I'll edit for clarification as well, it was a slow death, but once one failed the other followed fairly quickly behind.

Multiple rows on my dual color maps have failed.
I got ahold of Meso and when the new ones come out he offered me a good deal on a new set.
Send him a pm on instagram and let him know

I now have the newer version and I do not think it will be a problem anymore. It is a solid board vs individual LEDs. Very impressed with the quality.

I kept my dome light. So if mine go, I simple pop it back in.

    BUT...

I have had zero failure of any type with this unit.

Are you guys on the earlier generation, or do yours have an install date since 10/2020?

My dome is about completely out, my first maps are dead and I bought another new set of maps from a local TW member last spring that never installed them and now two rows are out on those.

Key info here. If the newer runs are sorted out, then I’m ready to pull the trigger. If not, I’d definitely like to know before throwing down the cash.

for those who already had them, this history may be new since you weren't chompin' at the bit....I was on it the minute he released the new gen in Sept. The first wave actually had out of spec plastic case dimensions, so there was a re-release a couple/few weeks later. slapped it in and I've been 100% trouble free. I do believe he re-engineered things.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I need the new redesign. Mine falls out every other door closure and I am down to about nine working LEDs left.

Similar story, my ultimate dual color maps are going strong but my single color dome has about 8 chips that still work, all have been installed about 3 years.
