I've owned several tacomas over the years. My most recent one was beautiful. A 2018 red TRD sport. It was the truck I had always wanted since I turned 16. (Many years older than that now.) Unfortunately, 2 weeks ago another driver lost control on a wet highway and crossed the median to hit me head on at 65mph. My taco is gone. But I am still here. I am posting this to show y'all how amazed I am that this truck saved my life and I WALKED away from this wreck with a bunch of bruises and a few scrapes. My husband has really been wanting a big 4 wheel drive suv, so I decided to let him get that and I downsized to a car. No new tacoma for me....at least for now. Maybe someday I'll be back. Y'all be safe out there and I'll see ya later. 204424034_10160105872478094_2703253319570840875_n.jpg

Glad to read you walked away alive from that disaster. That is one incredible picture you posted.

Glad the OP was able to walk away. The truck did what it was designed to do and that is to let the crumple zones absorb the impact so that the cab remains intact.

    WOW!!!

Happy you had very minor injuries.

This is a prime example of the work of engineers to make a vehicle that can withstand huge impacts allowing the driver to walk away.

OP, I'm glad you're okay! I hope the other driver was okay as well.

This is the answer to those who always bitch and say "what was Toyota thinking when they [insert 1st world problem here]". They're working on saving your life, which is cooler than everything else.
