No problem. And, yes. They are different Toyota ECU IDs / Calibrations. The newer TSB tunes always seem to make a better base for the vF / OV Tunes.

If you want to get into the weeds there, see the 1st Post of the ECU Update thread. Linked in my signature.

agreed! If it sounds too good to be true...but if it does something, it might be worth a try. I'm not going to be putting it on a dyno to check their claims.

The question that hasn't been touched on yet.....if I get a tune, can the dealership tell?

Ok, that makes sense thanks. One of the reasons I haven’t tuned was I’m waiting for my battery to shit the bed so I can go with agm

I thought Kd reg was a performance tune? There’s better on the way then with that I’m assuming

    LOL.

Best case scenario is that it does nothing. Worst case scenario is it adds horsepower via lean fuel and timing that'll kill your motor.

The biggest power tune isn't always the healthiest/reliable.

At least your Honest. IMO folks that add tuning software/hardware are Idiots. Just leave it alone, and injoy it. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

I recently replaced mine. I thought about an AGM but went with regular 24F lead acid. It does crank over much faster than the original ever did.

The unedited vF 2.0 Tunes for the AT are the Full Base tune. The Final Perf and Tow tunes have not been released yet. Those should come with the 2.0 Ultimate tunes.

    Howdy! You're asking for a shit-storm aren't cha?

There are good tunes and bad tunes just as there are extremely versed tuners (like the guy that actually disassembles the ecu programming).

If you're happy with the transmission shifting forced on you by the EPA and Toyota regulators then have at it pal.

    btw: injoy?

I just don't sweat the small stuff.

For the most part, tunes are made for OCD folks.

    I guess it's all perspective.

Someone else may say that tunes are for attentive people and those that're inattentive or perhaps clueless don't really care. ;)

I could be wrong but I would guess the silence probably answers the question.

No. I went with 24F / stock size. The cracking issues played into that decision also. I did think about a LiFePO battery for weight, but the sticker shock backed me off. Maybe next time.

I'm pretty happy all around, esp as I recently measured the suspension and I have some unseen Taco Lean without anyone inside.

I commented. We just don't know yet as the CARB program doesn't start until later this month, I believe.

There could be plenty of complications from folks who got TSBs done at dealers, but the dealers didn't put the sticker on:

These tunes (ebay mystery tunes) operate on a simple basis:
    • Promise a lot for a little money
    • Basic greed overcomes common sense
    • No one will sue you for screwing them out of $30
    • People are idiots

To call people idiots and OCD simply because you don't agree with their priorities is pretty judgemental and closed minded. I will never lift my truck. I have no need to. I will never go further off road than the occasional dirt or fire road, so to me it's not a priority or necessary. That doesn't mean I think the people that lift their trucks are idiots because they spent a ton of cash to change suspensions that "weren't broke". They just have different priorities and different reasons for owning their truck than I do.
