yeah form 4 sbr are a pita, i wont be doing any after my first one - they take just as long as a can

when you dive into sbs shotguns things can get more confusing.... sbs factory made are $5 stamp vs $200 for the one you convert...as i just learnt this recently with one of my conversions

Just a mess of information when entering the world of NFA items

also, Form 1 forms have the option for e-file, which speeds things up phenomenally.

Form 1 can be submitted online. I have only done Form 1 cans the last few years. No time for Form 4 nonsense.

I've used the Vortex VIP Warranty before and was very pleased with it. Plus the pay shipping both ways. Great company in my eyes.

Why it’s still a pistol until things change. I wrote my protest though it probably won’t matter

I really don't have issues with the brace currently. I just love the look of an sbr with a stock. And i've always wanted to dive into the suppressor game so I figured this was the best way to dip my toes into the stamp collection and then let the flood gates open after that once i'm more familiar with the entire process and have a trust established.

Is everyone who uses a trust just setting them up online or do you actually get a lawyer to do it for you?

IMO the only advantage of a pistol brace over SBR is not having to get approval to cross state lines. I have an SBR and do paperwork every year to go to visit family out of state (approval can be done for 364 days) but this process is the only reason I haven't SBR'd my AR-9.

I've owned guns for many years and rarely take more than just a pistol across state lines so I don't see that being a big issue for me and an SBR. If I were needing to take a 5.56 gun out of state, I'd just grab a rifle and deal with it being full sized for whatever purpose I needed it for.

sbr just offer more options, sba3 is comfy and i wouldnt want to file if i was fine with the setup with a brace

traveling with a sbr is more of a pain with a filing notice compared to a can

I had my lawyer do my trust many years ago, for peace of mind that my family won't get sent to the pokey.

However, after 41F I quit using it. Just extra work, and I have no desire to take on the responsibility of letting others share my things.

I'm more than likely going to form 1 my bcm 11.5.
I'm just waiting for the atf final brace ruling. No interest in paying $200 bucks right now if their final ruling is the same as what was proposed earlier in existing brace owners can file form 1 with a waived $200 stamp.

I'm just not a fan of the brace to be honest. Thought I would do ok with the sba3 but just doesn't work great for me. And let's be honest the sba4 is pushing the boundaries of brace vs stock. Stamp+trust= run a setup I like and no worries about some fudd turning me in for shouldering the sba3

And to clarify I'm 100% on board for removing sbr/s from nfa along with cans. We shouldn't even be having to discuss this.

The SBA stocks, er braces, approach the cost of a tax stamp anyway.

    Just do it.

I find the whole situation disgusting. I decided this morning to quit watching news and YouTube videos as my wife pointed out I am becoming a bitter person. I’ll probably finish this last rifle and then quietly accrue supplies as I find good deals.

Yeah, a form 4 SBR takes the same length of time as a can, one of my customers almost bought an LMT SBR the other day but decided on a banshee pistol and doing the form1 himself.

it’s actually AOW’s (Any other weapons) that are the $200 tax to manufacture but $5 to transfer, the Serbu Super Shorty, while it fires shotgun shells, is an AOW because it’s pistol grip only, so that’s a $5 tax stamp to transfer, however the 14” (or is it 14.5”?) Benelli M4 is a $200 tax to transfer because it has a butt stock, which makes it an SBS.
The laws are confusing and stupid but here we are…
