Sweet man, I would've like the premium, just wasn't in my budget. They offered me 19.5 for mine. pretty on point similar.

Do you think you'll miss the long bed? I don't haul much but when I do, the long bed is awesome. Other than that it seemed to just make parking annoying.

Right in the same boat! I love it when I do my dump runs, but doing a 73 point turn to pull out of a parking spot at work is just unacceptable. The short bed looks hilariously short to me at the moment, but I think it'll grow on me, along with the turning radius.

Last I heard on my truck was last Thursday it was "in production" whatever that means. hopefully it means I get it this month, but with all the stories of wait times, who knows. Anyone know what they mean when they say "in production" is it just still in the pipeline? I was told that build date was 7/2.

I called the dealer, truck was sold before it went on the trailer. I asked why he advertises sold vehicles, he replied about 10% of the pre-delivery sold trucks can’t get financing, so he likes a list of interested buyers (great way to treat potential customers?). I backed out of the deal on what I ordered back in March, this close to the 22’s, I can squeeze a couple more months out of my beater.

I assume it's because they don't show up in their inventory system until the techs do the receiving inspection. Also, the salesman is likely working with dozens of clients and missing a delivery by one day isn't a huge deal, that's an inconsequential mistake if a mistake at all.

Put in a request around mid-May. I got a call in June that they got an allocation and it would arrive in September. But they insisted it could only come in black, which I absolutely did not want. So I spent a couple of weeks watching the excellent dealer inventory tracker I found on this forum and found the exact configuration and color I wanted instead! I'm happy even though I'll have to do a road trip to bring it home.

There was a link in a previous thread listing the availability of all Toyota vehicles across the States… can’t remember which thread it was.

anyone have the link to that database available?

    thanks!

I ordered my 2021 OR in the first week of May and just learned last week that build date is 8-9. I'm glad to read that I am not the only Taco lover that feels like a kid waiting for XMAS! Mine is also Army Green and the more I see it the better I like it. Get to the spreadsheet here:

I have a delivery timeframe and I still feel like it's too lol LOL. I got an allocated truck with a build date of 7/2 and it should be here in 9-16 days.

Congrats on snagging your truck. It will probably be one of the last 2021s off the line. I think your dealer is mistaken about the excess "supplies" and not shipping 2022s until Dec. or Jan. Toyota typically does MY changeover during their summer shutdown period which is usually mid July. They build inventory for 1 1/2 - 2 months before releasing the new models to ship to dealers, typically in September, early October if issues are found. But since they gave you a build date of Aug.16 things could be pushed back a bit this year.

The extra "supplies" makes no sense because there is very little change between the 2021 & 2022 models so there should not be many parts that do not carry over. That plus the fact that Toyota is the master at managing inventories, I don't see how that would impact the shipping of the new models. Any extra non-carryover parts would go into the service parts system. The same is true of Port added options that are mostly controlled by the large distributors (e.g. GST, SET), not Toyota. Things could be different this year but what I described is what happened consistently during my career with Toyota. More information about the 2022 Tacoma, and timing, along with the 2022 Tundra introduction during the Chicago Auto Show which opens today.

Enjoy the new truck. The waiting is the hard part.
