+1 for Prana jeans for every day and Zion pants for hiking/backpacking. I have the super cool zip off pants too for when traveling ultra light. https://www.prana.com/p/stretch-zion-convertible-pant/M4SC99116.html

I've been wearing Levi's since I was a child. Don't really care to buy anything else especially around the $100 range.

I could rant about this for hours. When will everyone go back inside...

I start earning leave from work in January so hopefully I can sneak a Big Bend trip in around then. Texans hate the cold.

    Question about this video?

At 7:40 it looks like they are driving down the steepest part of the step in the middle when it looks like the right (left in video) side of the rock is just trail with a less steep drop on the rock step. Should the idea be to crawl down the steepest step ledge or take the path of least resistance? I see videos of people rolling their trucks when trying to crawl down that rock step. Though I'm confused about why it is happening.

Isn't that kind of the idea these days, take the most challenging route? It isn't about getting there, it's about the challenge. That's not me. I just want to get where I'm going the easiest way possible. I've been stuck, and/or broke things enough just taking the easiest route. Getting stuck or breaking things might be considered fun for some people, but not me. Most of my off-roading happens in the winter, and I'm usually alone, so that factors in.

Levi's good to go for every day stuff.

I hate that they started to pre-shrink 501s some 2+years ago.

I liked how relaxed they fit, and would get them dry cleaned so they wouldn't shrink.

Since then I've switched them all to 514's.

You might like the Levi's 501 stretch.
I really missed the 501s of old untill the latest 501 mod.

I wear dickies for general use, never when welding though. Those fuckers will melt, not burn, melt.. and it hurts. I have Carhart for welding and most of the time during this season I'm in shorts.

    Maybe

I like them already loose fitting, but yeah I miss the old 501's I used to own.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the Vulcan MIG gloves, my absolute favorite are Tillman stick welding gloves, they shield your wrist nicely without constricting you and you retain lots of heat resistance without losing finger dexterity. My local supply house has em and they're a bargain at $18
