We did the same thing but drove out from the Bay Area.

If you stayed in the RV parking outside across from the main straight you may remember the fireworks being shot off in the RV park that night after the race. I can neither confirm nor deny we had anything to do with that......:D

So are the teams getting more engine allotments to cover the sprint race miles? It sure would be a bummer to blow an engine in a Sprint and take penalties for the main event.

Or a crash would be a problem. I think it would be more expensive and complex to fix an F1 car than an F2 as a result of a sprint race crash. If it rains you won't see any passing.

    My recent tea-leaf readings says....
Large teams with the long view will parade on lower engine modes.
Small teams will look for cheap points and drive full-bore for some headlines and good starting positions for Sunday.
By lap ten on Sunday, all those slow cars will in the back and it will be business as usual.
I would be sad if Russell's first points were from a sprint. Not sure why but that seems to tarnish the idea....for me.

Any idea on the "start on the tire you qualified (Q2)" on for Sunday or is that scrapped?

this is what i always figured. if they get aggressive in the sprint, they risk losing the car for the GP. i think that's why most of the drivers said they expect a procession... because they are probably planning on it.

in other news, this is fkn awesome if you haven't listened yet:
Beyond the Grid F1 podcast with Leclerc, since this doesn't appear to show..

F1 won't allow it to show, so click on View on Youtube or just search for: Beyond the Grid F1 Leclerc

So, we bought a house in March that we are doing some major reno on. My wife has painted our front door and glass storm door to update them. She also wandered out to the mailbox and painted it with these two colors. She asked me what I thought and my response was, “well, are you at least going to paint a ‘4’ on the side of it?” She had no idea what I was on about. Took some explaining, but we got there. Good thing I’m a Mclaren fan.
