Hey all. After having my truck for the past three weeks I have notice a good bit of water coming into the bed through the factory tonneau cover during rainstorms and car washes. I have taken it off and checked alignment to make sure it was installed properly but can’t find a way to solve this issue. After calling the dealership and having them basically tell me they can’t fix it I decided to come on here for a solution. I know most tonneau covers aren’t water tight but for it costing upwards of $600 I feel that it should take heavy rain to show any kind of water in the bed. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I didn't think it was ever waterproof?

I don’t mean that I expected it to be water toght but at most to see a few small lines of water and some drops but what I’m finding is that when I park with the front of the truck facing down hill quite a bit of water that has gotten through pools up at the front of the bed.

its coming mostly from the bed side seals and not the folds right? I have noticed that mine will do that near the driver side latch point closest to the tailgate. There isn't a lot of leverage at that point to keep the seal down tight. Not sure if there are any latch points on that part of the cover but you may be able to loop a bungee cord from the mechanism to the bed tie down to pull it down more.

this is all, of course, dependent on if yours is leaking where mine is.

Are the front drain holes clear?

I know this isn't part of the 'leaking' question, but there should be little to no pooling up front. Also, you can make the existing holes a touch larger and even add a couple more if you wish.

But yea. Never expect to be able to keep the bed dry. If you have to carry items requiring that, use tubs or bags. And of course the water won't hurt the composite bed at all.
