Once complete I will be updating through the website.

Essentially when I change/upload new files to the product, the download permissions for all users will be refreshed. This in turn will provide access to C21 for all those currently running C20.

Could you send me your ECU ID off the 4R and the year? I’m trying to pinpoint what ones are for each year truck.

    Thanks!

So it is possible to go up from 04c20 to 0c421 on a 2021 ? mine was built in 4/21 and didn't know/bother to check what I had before I fed the tune to it (had no idea wtf I was doing when I did it - 1st timer ), but the gear hunting and throttle response Defiantly improved with the Valley Runner 2.0.3 tune!

If you already bought the tune and flashed it, odds are you have 04C20.

You can update to C21 whenever you feel like it through a Techstream TSB update. There should be a thread on the forums describing the process. A 2021 truck will need the most updated techstream software direct from Toyota. A two day pass to use it is around $60 I believe.

I will advise against updating until I have finalized the C21 files and update all the purchased customers download links. This way you are able to reflash VR to your truck once you complete the C21 transition.

I’ll post here once we complete the C21 updates on ValleyTune.com

I believe you can update with the new version of VF Tuner? I haven’t tried it yet, but will when your update file is available.

Just to clarify - As far as I know, you can update TSBs with the old Techstream. You only need the latest version to actually tweak settings within Techstream (i.e. door chimes, seatbelt lights, etc).

But as @katoomer360 mentioned, you should be able to update the ECU through vFtuner and skip the Techstream software altogether.

You need at least version V15.30.026 to update 2021 Tacomas via techstream. V14.20.019 works for 2020s.

I would still try through VF before dropping money on a two day pass for TS. HOWEVER, I have yet to get an ECU in that needs to be updated, so I haven't tested the VF software CUW files.

I'm waiting on a substantial order of ECUs to arrive, one of those is bound to need an update.

I have not tried VF, and if that works it would be great. You can get TS 15, or 16 registered though mhhauto forum. It's a bit of a process and will cost $25 to register for the forum. Once there, you can ask for the codes. There are other ways floating about, but I know that way works, as that is what I did.

So... in the store, there is choices for 31-35 inch tires. For a stock truck, I'd be looking at the 31 inch tune right?

Punch your tire size from the side wall into google with “in inches”. TRD ORs have come with 31-32” tires depending on the dealer. Mine had 31.5 when purchased.

I don't have enough time on this tune to give a review of it. But customer service is top notch, questions, help & advice answered & given quickly. Thanks

Will these be on the site shop soon? or how can I get a couple!?

Been running the VR standard tune for a bit over a week and have enjoyed my truck more than ever. Still have yet to do some longer Highway trips, but I’m excited to load up with gear and feel the difference.

    Thanks Jeff.

They’ll be posted on the website in the next day or so. The stickers are roughly 3.5” x 4”

Perfect for fitting in with any other stickers you may have along with being placed on water bottles/laptops. You can also cut off the words if you want logo only.

They’re automotive stickers designed to not damage paint or leave spots on windows should you ever remove it
