Looking for a welder who would be interested in helping me design and make 4 brackets. I'd pay for all materials and your time. Wondering how much it would cost as I don't know if it would be cheaper to purchase new yakima racks for the top of the cab, but since I already own these I figure it's worth a shot. Anyone interested?bedside_bracket.jpg

Exactly. I’m not quite ready to poke holes in the roof to install a roof rack that might only get used a few months out of the year. Basically making mini rails

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
This is why I bought the SC with the bully tune for the CARB. Put the bully tune on for smog, then revert back to HPTune. It'll pass smog and not grenade.

lot of tuners are becoming carb approved. My Cobb tuner for my wrx is carb approved. Being able to go from stock to your tune without bugging a tuner is nice.

Did the SD trip 7/7 to 7/10 with long days on both ends...

Taco input and thanks to all who suggested places to eat. Yes, taco shops are a personal thing but here is where I ate:
    - City Tacos in PB: good pinto beans and fish tacos ate just fine, crowded but good service
    - Taco Surf in PB: not authentic but pretty damn good plate of food. Actually ordered the chicken fajita plate which ate like tacos + peppers.. super good. No booze at this shop
    - Oscars in PB: Fish taco and skirt steak taco were good, maybe lacking some heft? Pinto beans really good.
    - Luche Libre: good, dirty little place but that's what gives these places flavor.. suck it up and eat
    - Tacos El Gordo: es muy bien! Tacos...
    - Not a taco shop but new breakfast/lunch/coffee shop in PB, Drift Cafe. Great coffee and great breakfast burrito.. add bacon for the win

    What else did I do?
    - Laguna Mountains (60 miles east). Drove to Desert View for lunch stop. Cool mountains and a trip through Julian (neat PCT stop over town, I hike much)
    - Walk around off the end of exit 2 near Freindship Park at the border... little warm but what a cool wall(s)!
    - BBQ twice up in PB at BIL house on Law St.
    - La Jolla beach walk... about 5 miles RT. Shopped at the Bentley, Mclaren dealers, nothing struck me as buy-able :)
    - Dive bars: Thrashers, Silver Fox... love the Fox, the bouncer repeatedly goes to the bar for shots of bourbon...
    - Cabrillo NM: Just a cool area and have been here every trip to SD. Big ass military ship coming into port
    - Dropped off rental car and walked to Little Italy, quick food and drink at Ballast Point (certain there are better options here) and walk to T2... fly home

    - Always took side roads when able so saw much. Very clean compared to Portland.

Obviously, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I’ve lived in 7 states + the Caribbean in the last 25 years and SD is by FAR the most beautiful place I’ve ever lived and one of the best I’ve ever visited. Every city has it’s bad areas, but there’s a good reason those of us who do, pay the “sunshine tax” to live here.
