Just picked up my new 2021 TRD Off Road. I have been able to turn on the Lane Departure Alert (LDA) that beeps at me if I start unintentionally deviating from my lane. My wife's Rav4 has the same feature, but hers includes steering assist, where it electronically turns the wheel to keep you in your lane. I assumed that my TRD OR with the top trim safety package would have the the steering assist, but it doesn't seem to work.

Researching online I've seen LDA stand for Lane Departure ALERT and Lane Departure Assist, which confuses things more.

Does a top trim Gen 3 2021 TRD OR come with steering assist? Are my sensors broken? Or is that only for other toyota vehicles?

The Tacoma's are still hydraulic power steering. That feature is only on electric PS. I find it so annoying on our trucks I just turned it off.

Thank you cvsizemore and PasoSteve. You guys saved me a trip to the dealership and lots of frustration. I definitely agree the steering assist is a bit jarring. Mostly just wanted to make sure the taco sensors were operating correctly. Thanks again.

Another note. The blind spot mirrors do not beep. If you turn on your signal with someone there they will just flash at you.
