Definitely not the worst contingency plan ever thought of

 

It was for my wife to give her something better than her $900 300k miles '03 Corolla CE. She's absolutely ecstatic about it. I think she sat in it for about an hour after we got home just playing around with all the settings.

 

That's awesome. She'll love it and take good care of it.
First brand new vehicle I ever bought was a 2011 RAM ST (base model, cheap, ugly rims, no creature comforts). Slept in the back seat the first night I was so happy.

 

My wife still has no idea how most things work. She's figured out how to start and drive it so far. lol

 

The salesman spent 30 minutes with us showing how to navigate the dash menus and the headunit and turn everything on/off.

Oh god. You just brought back a horrible memory I have from last year.

My 80+ year old grandpa, mid pandemic mind you, decided to go on a cross country road trip with his little fluffy dog.

He had just gotten rid of his pickup and bought a '20 Jeep grand cherokee.

So he calls me from my parents house and says, "Hey, I'm going to head home through Nevada and stop at your house overnight. By the way, I can't quite seem to figure out some of these new settings on this dang car, so if you have time, lets work on it for a bit."

You know what he wanted? You know what this guy wanted? He traveled with his garmin GPS, and set markers at all the neat places he stopped on his 3 month trip. He wanted me to load all the GPS coordinates into his onboard nav system...

I also got to figure out why everything was in metric, and spent a painstaking half hour trying to teach him how to use the voice commands. You know what old people do for voice commands? They yell at the robot like it understands them.

I love my grandpa to death, but he's much better off in his old F350 with his garmin GPS

 

Had to paper trade that since funds didn’t settle in time. But I did sell it off at 230% gain after 8 market days.
