Taco got a little TLC this last week. At 125,000km heard the truck beginning to squeal on start up. Long and short, truck now has new serpentine belt and 3 new idler pulleys. Also truck had a faint sputter on start up after a 14hr drive, so replaced the plugs as well. Turns out the gap on old plugs was good but the electrode was definitely worn down. End result, on a 1300km drive with a 16ft canoe on the roof, off-road bumpers front and back the 4 banger averaged 10.7L/100km with lots of hills and no more squealing on start up. The old idlers had a small amount of wobble

Fyi for anyone replacing the idlers on the 4 banger, the idler on the tensioner is the same as the top idler. Heard some people report that they had to buy the whole tensioner arm

Finally installed the 6112’s. A much needed replacement for the worn out Toytecs. Thank god those things are finally out! Truck sits much better now and already rides better and they aren’t even broken in yet. Looking forward to seeing how they do on the trails ECE6B458-C9E1-4A94-A06D-D875E18C7271.jpg

Very nice! I’m waiting for mine to be delivered. Curious what clip did you set them on and what’s your rear setup?

That’s purely subjective. I went with an 8” because Marv said this box targets about 0.5 cubic feet. That’s a little small for an SD4 10” (acceptable, but not perfect) but it’s perfect for an SD4 8”.

A sealed box on 500 watts isn’t going to set the world on fire, but it does sound great from the driver’s seat. That said, it’s a huge step down from a Sundown SA 12” in a big ported box, but I can’t lose half the back seat for bass with my daughter back there.

I did some things...installed my Drifta dualcab drawers with MSA drop slide. Drawers are quality made and fit amazing and man can those drawers hold a lot of crap.

I set them to 5/5. hoping they settle a little bit more than they have so far. In the back I have HD dakars and the Toytec Boss shocks.

Got tired of spending the first 15 minutes of fishing untangling the rods from eachother, so made some rod holders for the bed. Nothing fancy, just some 2" ABS and some stainless fasteners to attach to the bed rails, but I'm happy with how they came out. Will be testing them very soon.

Im with you and agree, im trying to sound good inside the cab and not worried about outside. I didnt want to lose my space either so Plenty of power on a strong 8" in a sealed box can be perfect

Last night I sprayed my squeaky Darkars with Slip and then spent about 3 hours trying to get my drum off to check the shoes. Had to get a my buddy to bring over his star wheel tool to get it backed off because the lip on the drum was is so bad, sheared off a pin so now I am going to have to rebuild my rear drums and the shoes look fine. Didn't get to installing my oil catch can or lube my UCAs to get rid of the metal on metal sound.
