First trip on the 21. Many were done on the 17 prior. Always thinking about adding lt265/70/16E and sumospring, stock now... My bed is most likely too full anyway.

Got 780 miles on my 21 taco, today was the first time I towed with it. This trailer is all I really ever need to tow so that was one reason why I stepped down from a full size gmc truck. I don't really need a big truck and the taco is so much more fun to drive.

This is my 5x10 tandem axle trailer, it's currently loaded with 7 square of shingles and everything else to do a roof on my garage. The trailer can haul 5,000 lbs but I rarely go that heavy.
    20210710_115722.jpg
The tacoma handled it very well, rode smooth, no sway, and was amazingly quiet? I didn't hear the hitch rattle or nothing. I had it in etc and it kept it around 2k to 2.5k rpm. Did a short run on the freeway and it did hunt for gears, I'll get it tuned at some point. But overall I'm very satisfied with how it towed my utility trailer.
    Brought home all this today.
    20210710_125751.jpg
It's nice to have the trailer, I'd rather beat the crap out of it than my truck. I built this trailer from a flatbed. It now has 1 1/2" oak floor and 1" ash sides. Removable Dutch door gates and a ledge for ramps. It also has a reciever hitch welded to the top rails for a winch mount so I can pull logs up onto it. I estimate the empty trailer weight at around 1500 lbs.

Since July 6, I will be towing our new to us 2018 Aliner Scout, approximate weight is 1450 pounds. This is my ‘02 Tacoma, 4 cyl, manual everything, 4x4 that will never die. I have an aftermarket Curt hitch and 7-blade wiring harness with a Tekonsha brake controller. No other modifications.

Sorry hadn't been on in awhile. It wasn't bad at all it was hunting for gears at first.I just stayed in 4th gear and smooth sailing rpm stayed around 2,200.Had to tighten up on the steering wheel when big trucks passed by.But it's all flat land where I'm at with sway bar, distrabution hitch and brake controller. It made it easy got up to speed easy and stayed around 65-70mph.

Good to know. I'd be tempted to get a bit bigger camper, but have to wait a few years.

I'm thinking about getting a stock trailer and hauling about 20 lambs (another 2000 lbs). This trailer weighs 2000. What do you think? hilly country in BC.
