No, I think there's an age requirement that you have to be 58 plus to buy them

I have the AVS ones - in channel - and no issues. You can roll the windows down easily 1 inch without no intrusion. Plus it's a good way to keep the truck cooler during the day. Ignore the naysayers and build your truck the way that you want.

Had a set of AVS in-channel ones on my old black truck when we lived in Tennessee. I always left the windows down about 2”-3” in the summer and they worked really well. Kept the rain out and the in-cab temperatures down a bit. If we still lived in the South I’d prob have a set on my Tacoma too...

I am seventy-six, I like them and I have the sticky tape outside mount, very cool, I know. Envy is not an attractive quality, guys. Anyhow, I can lower my window about two to two and a half inches.

I have them and I like them. I’m not 58 either, but I also don’t give a shit what someone else thinks

I like how they install. Very nice and clean look. I guess you can crack the window about 1 1/2” without getting wet. Initially after installation, my windows auto up wouldn’t work correctly. It would stop almost closed and start going back down. I ended up closing the windows without the auto close feature and it resolved on its own within a few days. My guess is that the deflectors needed time to seat completely and that several window closing made that happen.

In the channel AVS for three years and no issues. However I'm thinking about taking them off. They do nothing for me anymore, looks great but that's all. I see Tacomas without them and now I think it looks better.

I too am over the 58 barrier. I had them on my old 2003 taco and loved them. I have been lazy but will order a pair. I have an access cab but only want them for windows which actually go up and down. Enjoy your truck and deck out how you like

Yes! Had them on all my pickups!

Excellent for keeping the rain out, keeping the heat down and preventing foggy windows when it’s raining. Also helps with the sun a bit.

I have the AVS in channel, the standard ones. I put Weathertech’s on my wife’s Mazda and the windows work really hard when they go up against them. This is one case where thinner is better than thicker plus they’re about half the price of the Weathertech’s.
I’d say you can have the windows down a couple inches at least in the rain and not get wet.
    Gratuitous pics…

I leave my windows up probably 95% of the time so don't see a need for them personally, now if you tend to drive with your windows down than yes.
