I'd be more likely to just carry a spare flange, I've dinged the driveshaft a few time and candy caned one. But the pinion flange always prevails, the aftermarket one from marlin I have on is thick and unlikely to be phased, Now if you could invent a driveshaft skid that moved with it didn't waste a ton of clearance like the pinion skid does... you'd be rich and folks would be throwing credit cards at you

You spent 40 minutes looking before asking the question? Then got pulled in-to looking more, when you already knew there was nothing available. Why? I was trying to be realistic in your search. Meaning there was nothing readily (bolt-on) available. So, find a fabricator. I was not trying to be a S/A. I try to assist when I can.

Ok... let me explain this to you.

I spent my due diligence trying to find the answer for myself. I then asked the group, because there are a lot of people, from a lot of different places, that have done a lot of different things to their trucks, in here... that may know of someone who doesn't spend a lot of time and effort with a web presence. (Like Rat Fab in Sac, or Paranoid Fab doesn't spend a lot of effort with web, or the guy who fabs uni balls in to our lower ball joints)

I don't need to "find" a fabricator. Everything that has need fabricating on my truck was done by me. If a rear diff skid needs to be fabricated... I'll do it. I was just looking to see if there was a more expeditious alternative.

You have done absolutely nothing, what so ever, to "assist" Just so you know.

Sounds like I'm going to be needing to start fucking around with the CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) this weekend.

One plus is I've been putting that off because I didn't want to be f'ing around laying on my back under my truck figuring it out... But now I happen to have a spare rear end on jack stands in my driveway. Now I can flip that bitch over and sit down in a camp chair and get it worked out and fitted.

With several years of hard trails on a stock Tacoma e locker rear with nothing more than a weld on diff guard, your wasting time and money with the diaper. It doesn’t actually protect the flange so that’s a waste and with Toyota being a flange, they just roll off the rocks vs catch like u bolt straps or bolts on a yoke. The bottom of Toyota housings are super thick and a simple swap from a hex head drain bolt to an Allen head one will stop it from unscrewing. A bash guard on the back is all I would do. Easy to weld on, no need to drain the oil and will protect everything.

I'd personally be more worried about your axle housing cracking at the perches than anything serious happening to the diff.

    Couldn't agree more.

Got a P/N for an allen head drain bolt I can swap out for the hex one by chance?

I was assuming that possibility. Haven't sized them up yet.
I'm sure they will fit in the space fine, but the mounting method (compared to what's already there for the pods) will need to be figured out.

I see you've gotten a bunch of answers already, and perhaps Zane's suggestion to fab is the way you're going at this point. But, you might ask Jerry @JLee over at BAMF if he can make you one at his leisure (around other projects). It's not available on his site anymore, but the worst he can do is say no. You never know; good guys like Jerry sometimes help us out.

I don't run mine most of the time, but once I got it dialed in, it's a great option with basically no loss of clearance, since it slips up around the drain plug. Also covers the pinion, as you desire.

Actually... I'm pretty sure Jerry's diff skid still fits our axle housing. Except the drain hole is on the wrong side.
