    Back Story:

I pulled into work, the pedal went to the floor. I found the master cylinder seal had broke and fluid in the booster.

    Repair:

Replaced the master cylinder and bench bled before install. Replaced the brake booster.
I started the bleeding process at the right rear (furthest away) and worked my way to the master cylinder.

I believe when the fluid ran out, it pulled air into the ABS module. I had a mobile mechanic come over with a tablet. His software wouldn't communicate. It sounded like it was activating but it was not.

I know when I change the transmission fluid the is a sequence I have to do in order to change the fluid with temp sensors on the dash. Is this the same with the ABS? Should I keep trying to find someone with the correct software? I really don't want to bring it to the dealership.

I am unsure if this helps, but a few years back I had similar issue with catastrophic brake failure. I ended up using junk yard parts and replaced everything including the brake module (which was most likely the cause). I think I paid about $ 350 + fluid for the part. Working ever since without issue. I did have to bleed 2x at the wheels to get out all air.

Find a gravel road, dirt road, or any loose terrain.
Drive the truck, then hit the brakes hard enough to get the ABS to kick on.
Do this a few times, then bleed the brakes.

Other than that, you need a scan tool capable of activating the ABS.

And yes, I’m serious. This works.
More than one person on this forum has done this with success.
Most of them, had post just like this one OP:thumbsup:

How is that going to help? He needs ABS to pick on to purge the air.
