If I may offer a tip.
My Undercover came with a pair of adhesive pads that seal the front of the bed to the bed sides. You unbolt (5 torx bolts) that piece at the top of the bed next to the cab and stick these pads on each end of that piece, then put it back on. Those pads would be easy and cheap to make & install before you put the cover on. They do a great job of weather sealing that gap. Being adhesive, the original cover owner would not have been able to remove those from his truck.

Is the extang better than oem? Just curious since the price I’m getting the extang for is around the same price of a new oem one

I can't speak for the OEM cover, but I put an Extang Trifecta on my truck today and it held up to the inevitable afternoon thunderstorm waaaay better than I thought it would. Not a drop to speak of in the bed, so the brand gets my short-term recommendation, at least.

I don't know. I don't have either. My is an Undercover Ultra Flex trifold.
I was only offering a bit of pre-install advice for a used cover. See step #1 in link provided by post #6.

Edit to add: Looking at those directions, it looks like you can't drive with the last panel folded up. You'd have to remove the cover to have the full bed open. IF that's true it would be a no-go for me. I'd go with the OEM of something else with a prop rod for the last panel (and you don't want something that lets the last panel rest against the back of the cab.)
