What, sit in the chair, drink beer and wait for the target to present itself? The neighbors are gonna love that! Maybe get my .22 rifle barrel threaded for a hush-hush can...

Or you can set a box trap. They are super easy to catch. I had a fresh air fund type relocation program to thin the population in my neighborhood.

    Funny you should mention that...

Just an hour ago I set out my live trap.
Fucking groundhog raided my garden this morning. :annoyed:

I'm not surprised though. It happens every year.
I kill one, another moves into the vacated hole, I kill that one...etc.
Sometimes I happen to spot them from the balcony and choot 'em right then.
Other times, it's the live trap baited with little carrots dipped in peanut butter.

My "relocation" plan is to plant the bastards a couple feet down in my garden.
After I pop 'em with my .22 pistol while in the trap.

    [edit]

I've caught possums, skunks, squirrels, in addition to groundhogs.
    Lest you think me heartless...
I relocate the possums several miles away.
With skunks I carefully drop the back door of the trap while holding up a cardboard shield.
It's only groundhogs and squirrels that I terminate with prejudice.
Squirrels steal my apples and pears...groundhogs screw with my garden.

Never caught a cat...guess they don't like peanut butter. :notsure:

I like live traps, they work well.
And I can't see endangering any critters other than the ones I have it in for...

A friend had an ongoing war with woodchucks in his garden.
He kept a 12 gauge in the upstairs bathroom and from "the seated position" would snipe them.

One day a lady from the church was visiting, in the kitchen, directly below the bathroom.
    BOOM
Church lady: My god! What was that?
Friends wife: Just my husband up in the bathroom...

You could use .22 subsonic ammo fired from a rifle.
Then you wouldn't get that supersonic crack. :notsure:

Me, I use mini mag hollow points.
A single shot and people are like: "What the fuck? Oh well."
Technically, I'm within the safety zone of my neighbors.
But everybody in these parts has guns too, so...

I have one rule. I kill it, I eat it and I’m not cleaning tree rats so they take the ride.
