that depends on ur tire size then, not the wheel. long as its around 29 in diameter or below on stock height u shouldnt have rubbing (can always go bigger with trimming)

 

The Ford wheel is much wider than the Toyota Wheel. Fender lip should be ok. I'm concerned with inner liner area in the front of the wheel house. The 14" tire gets close now with the suspension loaded. I plan on running a 205/50/16 with is about 24" tall or a 215/55/16 which is a tick over 25".

 

Stock suspension or any spacers used. Truck looks great with that combo!

I went with Bora .75" front wheel spacers, since I didn't want to over poke the wheels past the fender, it fits no rubbing. Factory studs had to be shaved off a little, which I didn't mind. Of course it also clears for TBU as well.

 

2001 v6, 2wd 6 lug, stock suspension.
OEM gloss grey TRD rims
Toyo open country 3s- 265/65/17-- no rubbing at all

No rubbing at all. Now I just need black lugnuts

This might be slightly off topic. I came to this thread cause I replaced my 16" steel wheels with first generation 16" Alloys on my 99 Tacoma since the steelies were rusting cause this is my snowboarding truck. The offset shouldn't be an issue here. I put on some Cooper Discover photo attached. Overall they handle great and I did a gnarly off road after ~150 miles of highway driving the first weekend. I've noticed a bit of a shimmy at highway speeds and sometimes in town, it feels like there is a bounce. I know the ride will be stiffer because of the reduced tire size. The old tires gave a mild vibration, though not like this, and I thought it was due to being 7 years old with uneven wear. Also I put new KYB shocks on last fall.
It this alignment? Do I need to have the tire store double check the mounting and balance?

I’m interested in replacing my stoke tires with theses wheels below, would these wheels fit ok ? Will the backspacing be really noticeable or rub on any interior part? Or would I have to add or modify anything ? Don’t want to put out the money and then have wheels that I can’t use

I believe these are coming from 2021 sr5

2nd, they polish up great

 

Mine are 2020 SR5. Without fender flares I found the offset to be great. Wheels are tucked a little more than stock. This helped keeping road debris/spray in the wheel wells. Once I installed my Bushwacker 2" fender flares, I found that the offset is too much. I run 1.25" spacers with the fender flares now. Also to note, I have no rubbing issues with this wheel/tire combo. My truck does have a 2" lift.

 

installed them today, with no spacers. Drove it for a little , doesn’t seem to have no issues . 2021 stock sr5 wheels

 

The wheels and tires 265-70R16 that are on the my 1998 4X4 SR5 were purchased from another owner with a 2013 Tacoma SR5. Interestingly enough the wheels on the 2007 Tacoma Base were off of a 2013 Tundra.

 

Here are my 16" Toyota spare wheels installed. These are spare rims that came on 98-04 Tacomas. Took a while to collect 4 of them but they cost anywhere from $25-50 each. I scrubbed them down and hit them with a coat of flat black paint. Couple days ago added Spidertrax wheel spacers (2nd & 3rd pic). Btw I was able to sell my oem aluminmum wheels to a metal recycling facility for $30. No one wanted to buy them when I listed them lol (not big surprise)

These wheels are said to have clearance for the Tundra brake upgrade which I'll likely do down the line.

2013 Tundra wheels are 5 lug, they would not fit a Tacoma.

 

Can confirm 265/70/R16 3rd Gen Taco wheels with original wrangler kevlar tires fit '04 with stock suspension with zero rubbing.

Also, they raised the height of my truck by 3/4". Don't know what to credit with that. May be in part because the tread was not as worn down as the older tires, but there was still life left on them and that wouldn't make up for 3/4". But they work and look great.

 

Not trying to beat a dead horse here as I've seen people saying its impossible to stop people from asking, I have a chance to swoop some TRD wheels off a 2015 Tacoma my buddy is selling. should I swoop them for my 1st gen taco and is it the right move and will they fit? I'm a wheel noob in general and am asking because of people's experience here.

PS. is there a huge difference in wheels between a 2WD and a 4WD in terms of assembly to attach the wheels

 

If his are 6 lug and you have 6 lugs they will fit. I put 2021 4 runner rims on my 1st gen Tacoma. If the tires are stock you have have zero issues
