Or got water once and said never again.

My Mom has a sump pump in the unfinished side of her basement which does get some degree of water, but hardly bad. In the 25 years of living there she got water in the finished side once after a super wet spring and a 3+ inch rain day. However, to this day if there's a storm cloud in the sky she's in full panic mode and starts building her ark. It's...exhausting.

My parents got water in their basement once, after being dry for 20 years. It was a clogged area drain that pushed the water back toward the house but insurance wouldn’t cover it because there wasn’t a sump pump installed. That summer, my dad and I put one in, cheap insurance and it hasn’t happened since. Sump has been dry since we installed it.

On a completely unrelated note, I don’t even own a Tacoma and you’re helping me spend my money. I did the ‘buy once, cry once’ approach and ordered a Polygon Siskiu T7, 27.5. Seems to check all the boxes, boost frame, thru axles, 1x drive train, hydro brakes and decent suspension components. Should be here early August.

Any good areas in the VT/NH area for remote truck camping? I don’t mind campgrounds and have done plenty of camping in green mountain national forest and some in NH but wondering if there are any areas you can drive in for remote/primitive camping like BLM land out west.

    WTF?!?
I Feel as though we should, have to, put a stop to closing trails....
Not sure what or how to do but it really pisses me off that we (TW) for the most part anyway, can't access trails anymore.

Was gonna say, this first sentence. Even with my basement I took it on once and have left a utility pump in that corner since

    Traveling just 1 truck?
I'd find a spot on the map and just go.
Worst case you get a ticket, which will be unlikely just 1...
Groups you can't do that unless permission or it's actually open.

Yea, I was quite flabbergasted as well, when you can get the Fish sandwich with fries for $16-17 same thing, different name. I’ll get F&C in the $13-18 range; won’t order it if it’s more than that. Went to George’s in Mendon last week with the fam and spent damn near $85 for 2 plates, one sea scallops and one clam strips, 2 kids meals 4 waters and 2 baby cones.
    Fuck this inflation shit…

Could always pool some investment money and buy a good sized chunk of land for private members only use. (Like a Palmer motorsports park but for OR) Annual dues to pay for trail upkeep and insurance. offer day passes to those passing through or to the mall crawlers…. Just spitballing here.

my wife’s grandfather has some significant local acreage that I could probably use with close contacts but I’m not trying to open that up to people who want to be knuckleheads…

Gotta join off road clubs to get to private land nowadays. There’s still good spots open though.

seafood is expensive right now. Food in general - I think that’ll come down though soon. Tough summer though, really tough for restaurants I know two that couldn’t reopen and one they took this summer off.

NH white mountain forest off Tripoli road. It’s primitive but it’s a camp road so there’s a lot of others doing it. It’s not free though.

otherwise looking for wildlife refuges and state owned land with trails or logging trails. A lot of logging operations don’t do the weekends so if you get lucky and find a good spot off the path a bit you’re good for the weekend nights.

just find dirt roads and look for off shoots. Im heading up to VT in a few weeks with a small group scouting more sites.

yeah just 1 truck, I’ll do some more detailed map research to hone in on some areas that have potential. I like spots where you don’t have to hear other people’s radios, generators, etc

Looks like every bracket on my truck... Still think they should offer a New England package with all stainless parts and hardware. Obviously it would be at a premium but I'd pay.

Anyone here know anything about a temp hoisting permit needed to rent a mini excavator? Google machine only comes up with refresher classes to take for renewal.
