I enjoyed the sprint from a racing perspective but otherwise is a waste of time. I don’t think they should keep it going. Their is already an exponential increase in points for the leaders and this will just make the gaps grow larger and harder to catch up. The sprint marginalizes qualifying and I don’t see a big difference in outcomes between the sprint and the race. It just increases the risk of bad luck.

The sprint is intended to increase viewership but I probably won’t watch qualifying or the sprint for those perspective races. If they include it on all races I’ll probably never watch anything outside of the race and just look up the starting grid.

I liked watching the sprint race but I'm not married to the idea of having it all the time. Can teams afford the money and risk to do it for a full season? Would be nice to see a comparison in pros and cons between reg vs. sprint weekend?

Totally agree, racing incident, Russell locked up and understeered. Sainz very nearly caused a big crash coming back onto the track also. First lap incident... this is the sort of thing you're gonna get with a sprint race or any kind of race...

Russell will catch a break a some point.

Good job Norris & Danny, it actually looked like Danny liked driving the car today.

That's the thing. A less affluent team may not be able to rebuild a car damaged during a sprint incident and not be able to make it to the race.

And smaller teams are already taking that risk just on practice and quali. Now you add an aggressive mini pre race race and the odds get worse.

Nope, he went on but was boxed because of an issue putting him at the bottom of the grid.

This brings up a great point about the unnecessary risk the sprints add

Especially considering it’s only the top 3 that benefit from a few points, I don’t see the attraction for the teams, it’s all for the spectators.

Kimi picked up some damage too…

agree with most opinions here, the initial wave of novelty excitement was cool but beyond that it would be fairly arduous, overextending the race weekends.

but all hail Alonso! shoulda been 12-15 laps.

I'm listening to the FIA Team principals press conference and I'm liking what Horner is saying. A lot of the talk is about the future decisions with the F1 engines and he is very much for more noise and sustainable fuels. I get the feeling he would like to go back to v10's.

Horner - "We need to turn the volume up".

Toto - "I would disagree with Christian"

That's the difference of a F1 engine supplier & an automotive manufacturer.

Like I said in a previous post - make all of the support vehicles electric, improve air travel efficiency and make F1 cars louder. :) :burnrubber:
