All things considered, not terrible. CPU and RAM had no issues. Main SSD drive pitched a bit of a fit but it hung in there when they all started up at once but it leveled out

To be fair, my rig I'm typing on is built to run flight sim games at max res, so it's largely impervious to anything the common internet can throw at it.

 

To be fair. i5 @ 1.6GHz @ 8 GiB. Laptop. If I ran this on my desktop memory wouldn't be an issue. 33 tabs. 31 Youtube. Stressed but working. lol\

Linux might, on a technical level, be more efficient resource wise, I'm not gonna argue with that. But I can also just buy hardware that really makes it obsolete since I just want to fly airplanes and shoot fake enemies in the face with overpowered weapons. If it costs me an extra $500 bucks for a GPU or CPU or RAM upgrade, I'm ok with that

 

Are 8 core processors affordable now? I remember at first they would all cost you your kidney.

Glances at the shelf behind me with $3k worth of flight sim peripherals. Yes. PS controller, of course...

 

this plus a 1070 and that's lasted me 6 years now I think it is? Maybe closer to 8. I'm sure I have some settings to where it doesn't run as clean as possible but it runs all the games I do and My racing sim never drops a single frame so I'm cool with it.

Also I'm selling a g923 for xbox/pc if anyones interested lol. 250 shipped. retails at 350 on Amazon. I won't have as much free time over next couple years and storage space will come at a premium.

You're literally running a better CPU than I am. Get a 2070 or 3060 GPU and you're fine. If you have shit ram just upgrade that. The i7 processors are still beasts.
