@YotaDeer54 that's how an undercarriage is supposed to look - outstanding! I'd love to get mine looking like that. Never any rust issues except the inside(s) of both doors.

Installed new Head lights today, along with new side mirrors as my factory ones has a crack around the plastic piece that holds the actual glass in.

Also UPS man showed up with some more goodies! Got my ECGS front clamshell and Rear 3rd member with 4.56 and Detroit’s front and rear.

    Clean!

Looks like you've got some positive camber or some toe in (weird angle).

Got it aligned after you replaced your suspension right?

Oh yeah I will for sure get it aligned, I am going to wait until I can get the rear leafs and them on before aligning it. I ended up washing and clay barring the entire truck yesterday evening. I will now re wash and ceramic coat it. Amazing what a clay bar can do to an 22 year old paint job.

    Very clean!!!
I'm about to order the same front clamshell for my conversion. I have factory 4:56 gears in my prerunner. Just to clarify, you ordered the tacoma/4runner 7.5 reverse ifs clamshell? and chose the solid spacer over the crush sleeve?
I also see the option underneath the spacer for a cv bushing? Any reason why you didn't
opt for it? or did you?

I also noticed your front cv boots are bunched up pretty good on the outers.

The truck is completely lifted so that means my suspension was completely flexed to the max, only being raised by the frame on a 2 post lift. Even then my cv axles were never in a bind and full lock either way, this is rock height of truck(No Lift). I ordered the 7.5 clam shell with solid spacer and the upgraded bushing. I have solid spacer in rear as well.

If you place any truck on a 2 post lift and lift it in the air all of the suspension is going to be maxed out by just hanging down. Once you add the vehicles weight back on the suspension it levels everything out.

Also I am waiting to align my front end till I get my rear leaf springs installed and let the truck sit and settle a little. If you get an alignment with fresh suspension, once it settles a bit you will be back out of alignment. I don’t drive the truck much, it’s not my every day driver, so it can sit for a week or two.

I will mention I broke the old clips in the grill when removing it to change out my head lights, I did order me some new oem clips for it and new clips for the front headlight fillers.

I also ordered some genuine Toyota sway bar bushings, with the sway bar end link bushings. These are a bit old and cracked, If the oem Toyota have made it 22 years why not replace them and have another 22 years.

He didn't lift his vehicle, why bother with a diff drop?

His cv axles are at an angle in the picture afterward because the vehicle isn't on the ground.

Where did I post anything about a diff drop?
And he already explained that the truck was in the air when the picture was taken.

I think he assumed what you were asking about on the front clam shell the “cv bushing” as a diff drop for the cv axles. I don’t think he realized you were speaking about the upgraded cv bushing in the internal clam shell.

I am just assuming this was what was assumed! LOL!

Correct. The bushing that eliminates the needle bearing. It's all good. Ima have them install it on my clamshell.

edit: NM, they aren't for manual carriers.

@YotaDeer54 Looking good - coming along nicely. In case you decide to change the look in the future, you could opt for the side mirrors for the 200-2005 models; I put them on mine, they're an exact fit, and you wouldn't have to modify a thing.

The vibration presents itself when people lift their vehicle above stock height.

Even then, not everyone experiences it so it's not needed. Only if someone has the vibrating issue then do they install it.

Not what ECGS said, they said it makes it stronger and it’s better to begin with! They recommend it with any build of the clam shell! Even with manual lock out hubs.

So I’ve been busy with work. After driving truck just a little with 3.58 gears and the 265/65r/17 it’s not that bad however I do not like how the tires and wheels ride. So I am selling them, not gonna re-gear due to some health issues and I am currently putting some KMC 15x7 522 black enduro with some 235/75r/15 fb Goodrich all terrains on the truck. I need to find a rear center cap that will work with these wheels as the one that came with it doesn’t fit, however I kinda like the look with no center cap on the rear. I don’t know if it will hurt anything or not.

Just an update, still waiting to get my rear leafs installed they just arrived last week. Once this is done I will detail it good and it will be ready for Hunting season. I have replaced sway bar bushings and alignment. Now just rear springs with new OEM Toyota shackles and bolts along with new u bolts.

Looks great, you’ve done a good job. Hey, grab some stock wheels and powder coat them. Less issues and it would fit your mostly stock theme.
Id like to find a standard cab gold 2.7 5spd to beat around! Fun driver

Guys got the leafs installed it did raise the rear end but made it excellent. I am stoked at how good it rides, I put heavy duty 1500 lb leafs in the rear for my camper shell. I have hauled 400 pounds of grain in it already and it barely sags. It is amazing.

I also got my Wet Okole seat covers and got them installed. WOW they are impressive.
