I've had mine since January 2020, anyone have some slight wiggle in neutral or gear.

Essentially what I mean is: in neutral, without actually pushing the shifter left or right you can kinda wiggle the shaft (lol). Was half thinking I might have a loose bolt lol.

Not really. I would pull the console and make sure your bolts are tight.

not here. good luck. these things often need one re-torque at the base of the shaft after some use. but I'd expect you feel it everywhere, not just in N. maybe shoot Rinehart an email.

Ill probably have to check that soon. I had one of these in an old Chevy that had a similar issue except the bolts just about fell out lol

Here’s my video showing the same movement. The play on mine is from the transmission and not the shifter as yours appears to be. Mine has only been installed a couple weeks though. I’m assuming the two bolts that connect the shaft to the shifter a little loose on yours. I purposely used blue loctite when installing to keep these two bolts in place. Hope this video helps for comparison sake.

Gonna have to tighten my bolts then. Where did you get your shift knob?

What lapoltba said. These are limited run custom knobs that happen once a year. @7r41lbr34k3r makes them and he has a full thread regarding the details. They are indeed a piece of art. As the Core shifter uses a different thread compared to stock, you can either have Rick (the dude who makes these knobs) mill the threads for the core shifter or mill the threads for the stock threads and then use an adapter. The combo of his knob and the core shifter definitely gets close to perfection. My only slight complaint is the extra noise from the Core but it’s negligible especially if you have your HVAC system on, windows down, or radio turned up… which is 99.9% of how I drive. Even with the windows closed, the noise isn’t bad. I did wrap my stick with sound dampening material (Dynamat) and I think the multiple materials (Delrin core, SS body, and brass adapter) used in the shift knob help dampen the sound even more.

Today I installed the Core shifter in my second gen with a RC62F trans. I installed the stick on the opposite side. I need room for the transfer case stick. Lol! I am using the FJ Cruiser rubber boot and the leather boot. Getting the rubber boot to slide over the shifter base was a PIA. I have not test drove today. But we shall see soon. Anyone know the thread size for the Hurst stick? Are the threads the same on all the sticks? Anywho, here are some pics.

very cool. i watched some of y'all's stuff in the other thread(s).

Hurst stick has 3/8-16 threads. (edited, i originally said 3/16-16, sorry for the confusion)

This, and there is a ~$15 adapter to get back to the stock taco thread if you need to.

Yesterday I pulled the console and checked all bolts and everything was tight. The wiggle must be the inherent play that comes from use of a manual transmission. I have a video to post later after work.
